Gracie - this was taken as she auditioned during high key week, with 52 frames. Love her smiley face. It’s a good reflection of her personality. 🩷

52 Frames. Week 13. HIgh Key. After low key, with Riley last week, it was the turn of Lulu and Gracie this week for High Key. They both did well as models, and it was a tough choice as to which photo to submit. In the end I chose Lulus with that direct gaze. Beautiful Lulu - she’s all about the love. I’ll show Gracie is a separate post🙂.

52 Frames. Week 12: Low Key. It was good timing for this challenge to have our Grand-dog Riley staying with us for the week. She is a black and tan cocker spaniel, who our son rehomed about 5 years ago. Her dark tones worked well for the challenge of low key. I was amazed at how well she sat for the session. She even let me angle her face, like a professional model😂. The treats were a just reward!

52 Frames. Week 11. Roll of 24. Our challenge was to limit the ‘clicks’ to 24, ensuring we thought more about what we were doing in camera. Well! This chrysalis was quite low to the ground and it had a beautiful wee drip on the bottom which I wanted to capture the refraction in. So down in the ground I got🙂.

52 Frames. Week 10. The challenge was chaos, and had me somewhat stumped!! It seems I live in a fairly ordered world. However, this week coincided with the beginning of the conflict overseas, and I couldn’t get it out of my mind. Particularly in comparison with my ‘ordered world’. So with a page from the world atlas I created the background, to depict the world in chaos, in contrast with my emptied cutlery drawer which I inserted into the middle of it. Two extremes of chaos I guess. Plus, I cleaned the drawer while it was empty😜. A win, win.

52 Frames. Week 9. Dancing Feathers. The challenge was to use window light this week, so with some baking paper taper to the window, and the feathers hung from above, this was the result.

52 Frames. Week 8. Shallow depth of field.
Percy has been with us for about 10 months now, and has a very real place in my heart. He’s not too confident with the camera yet, but I got lucky with this shot. With settings all ready (f 2.8)I was able to focus quickly on his eyes, before he got distracted. I love the fall off in front and behind. The beauty of a shallow depth of field.

52 Frames. Week 7. Unexplored.
This was a tricky topic, and with limited time to be adventurous, I settled for a photograph of our garden shed.
When we first viewed this property, we didn’t notice the shed, hidden as it is amongst the bushes. We had budgeted to add one, so when we moved in and found one already there, it was a bonus! But with the ‘men only’ sign on it, the creepy crawlies and vermin the apparently live in there, I’m quite happy to leave it largely unexplored by me!

52 Frames. Week 6. Topic: Complimentary Colours
More playing in the garage with lights for this image, and it was great to have some ‘light bulb’ moments.
Red and green are complimentary colours on the colour wheel, and Christmas or roses always come to mind. So I decided to build the scene this week, with items from the pantry.
