Mark Hollows, what an absolute legend. Over the years, you took me and so many of my clients to some truly incredible places. It was an honor to work alongside you. You will be deeply missed by me and the wider Fiordland community.

Crystal and Sky 🤍

I had the ultimate pleasure of photographing these two up in the mountains last month. We ended up hiking up to this stunning spot and camped overnight. I’m used to choppering in to mountainous spots for photoshoots, but walking in and having loads of time was so rewarding.

It’s insane how cameras can cut through fog like this 🤯
With my torch on I could barely see anything. I was happy to capture this before the fog got too thick! There was even a little bit of air glow around.

Darcy & Hannah 💍🌧

I had this fun proposal shoot in the rain the other day up in the mountains. The location and conditions were a little challenging, but they did well!

Portal to the Cosmos - Tunnel beach, Dunedin ✨

I’ve been meaning to re visit this spot for a while now, and finally conditions were perfect earlier in the month.
I’ve been here many times over the years, but this was the first time coming with the star tracker. It was also the first time there wasn’t an available car park! 😅
Thanks K Chay Photography for tagging along.

Jack and Veronika 🤍

Here's a beautiful wedding from late last year. Te Anau Helicopter Services flew us to a stunning location near Lake Norwest. I just loved the moody conditions too!

It's almost a full moon again. Will the clouds clear to get another moon alignment like this one that I got 2 months ago?

p.s. There's also the slim possibility of an aurora tonight. I've given more details about that in the new private group I created the other day (Taranaki Astro Alerts & Trips).

Moke Lake Milky Way 💫

This has possibly been the most challenging panorama to create for me to date. I used the 50mm lens for the sky, as I wanted as much detail in the milky way as possible. However, the challenge was later on whilst I was shooting the foreground, the aurora decided to show a few brighter beams! So I had to re photograph parts of the sky and blend them together. Jess wasn't too impressed how long this took me to edit 😅

It has been a bit of a goal of mine to shoot the stars here, as I recall seeing one of Undersoul Photography 's images at this lake in the Otago Daily Times many years ago - quite the inspiring image for me to see.
