Moments il never forget from a trip of a lifetime in Fiordland.

5 days and 4 nights exploring Dusky, Doubtful and Breaksea Sound. Thanks to the wonderful team on who made this trip so incredibly memorable, I feel so ridiculous grateful to have created a work day that looks like this.

My first adventure in the South Island since we got back from Canada! Crazy that was at the start of the year šŸ˜šŸ˜‚ Was great to get out in the outdoors again and not do household maintenance for a change. So glad to have moved into this new season of ā€˜level 2’ And very much looking forward to making some new pals and visiting the places I haven’t seen for a good couple of years now. Being back here it felt like I’d never really left ✨

I stand at Dawn.

Tomorrow is not about COVID-19. Tomorrow is a day for every single human that lives here in New Zealand to acknowledge the lives of the many brave men and women that went to war so we could enjoy our beautiful country. Citizens, residents, emigrants I ask you to stand at Dawn with me.

Show your children why we sacrifice one morning a year for those who fought for us to be here. Show your gratitude to be able to hike in the mountains, swim in the seas and drink from our rivers. Give respect to those who were asked to hand over life in exchange for this ground beneath our feet.

Tomorrow morning at 6am we will stand at the end of our driveways and honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us to be here. Wherever you are in NZ I hope you’ll join me in the morning for the service at 6am on

Il never forget the sacrifices my Grandad made for all of us.

We will remember them.

Creation in isolation day 28✨

I made it! After a long hiatus from posting on here I managed (somehow) to share a little snippet of my life everyday during the level four lockdown.

In a way it’s felt very personal sharing all these small moments with all of you, most of what I usually post on here is big moments, but this has been a big moment as a whole and as a photographer that likes to document, I’m pleased to have these small memories of the strangest time in my life.

Part of sharing these has made me feel less alone, at times it’s been very lonely. Moving somewhere new from another country is daunting but being put in isolation after a couple of months being home is hard, being social and making friendships isn’t easy in times like this so I’m grateful for the support all of you have given me through messages and comments.

I won’t be continuing daily photo posts on here although il be taking photos and thought I might upload a weekly reel of them. I hope you enjoyed as much as I did, il still be around on here and am going to pop a post up tomorrow on something very close to my heart ā£Thanks again, not long now till we’re out of this and can look forward.

Creation in isolation day 27✨

As we begin to look forward a little and allow ourselves a peek into a potential new chapter I find myself thinking of small businesses. As a business owner myself I know the passion and importance of the individuals behind every beautiful brand that’s been created. So much work, love and effort poured into something. It’s painful, hard and stressful but equally it’s rewarding, growth inducing and exciting.

As I pottered around my house today this blanket I purchased grabbed my attention and Jo is a great example of the person described above, she supports the small guys - the people and family’s creating small handmade goods like pottery, blankets, wood worked items...she hand sources it all.

So when this is all over, support those people - buy quality over Kmart and think about the impacts your purchase has more than ever.

More than ever we need to be conscious with all that we consume and support our kiwi businesses, our families. Our economy is nothing without the businesses we have, big or small. I encourage you to support them when they open their doors again ✨

Not feeling it today! Here’s a snap I didn’t share from Sunday ft. Incredibly dirty windows.

I was back behind the camera all day for work, Russ came home on his lunch break to give me a hand with some of the shots because they required a couple of people and then I did emails and admin šŸ”„šŸ™…šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø Today was one of those days I felt like staying in bed, I’ve only done that maybe twice in my life but I just couldn’t be bothered with much, life’s an emotional roller coaster at the moment and it does get on top of me some days! Anyway, I did get out for a walk this eve with the pooch right before the rain set in and had my grandads soup for dinner which was a comfort.

Creation in isolation day 25✨

Big announcements today team. I spent my day doing work while this big fluffy guy waited outside the door until sunset, I couldn’t say no to those big brown eyes though so after Russ got home we nipped our for a stroll.

I was taking photos all day of some product for a client so all I have are these snaps of the post workday sunshine casting shadows on things.

I hope however level 3 sits with you, you’ll stay home ā™„ļø Nothing much changes so keep up that good work and hang at home, do some more DIY, colouring in or photo snapping. I’m undecided whether il carry on with this little project of mine for the coming weeks but il have a think about it for sure.

Creation in isolation day 24✨

Sunday’s are our slow day these days, it used to be the day we would hike or be returning from somewhere random we wanted to explore. These days we have a warm drink in bed while we soak up the sunshine streaming through the windows and ponder what household activities we’ll do šŸ˜‚This morning we were joined by my cinnamon buns who needed a second rise in a warm spot. I’ve really quite enjoyed slowing down over this lockdown period and it’s one big positive I can draw from for myself, sometimes I stress myself into a frenzy with work and business related things and it’s been nice to sit back and enjoy just BEING. Human being not human doing šŸ¤”šŸ˜›

This arvo we built a shoe rack out of some old pallets which was fun but it was extremely windy 🌬Was glad to get in this evening and enjoy eating dinner by the fire with Russ.

Creation in isolation day 23✨

We’re usually weekly shoppers because we eat so much fresh produce but we’ve been lucky over this lockdown period to have some kind neighbours and friends drop off produce (to the door step) so haven’t needed to go as much which has been amazing. We’ve been eating more strategically too so lots of pumpkin and potatoes with the addition of things we’ve foraged and greens from the garden. We’ve still been getting the odd warm afternoon which I’ve been really loving ā™„ļø

The rain just makes everything that little bit more miserable šŸ˜–

Spent my morning working today which was really nice! Then took a big walk and pottered around home. I’ve been hanging out for another dramatic sunset but each night the cloud comes over and covers it up! Tonight I grabbed a snap of the sun just as it went down behind the cloud. Have a happy weekend friends ✨

Phew šŸ˜… we’re getting there aren’t we! This morning I did a big run and worked away on some product imagery for

I’m looking forward to when this lockdown is over if I’m honest, I’m ready to go see something else now and go support our local bakeries, cafes and cooks! What are you most looking forward to after lockdown? Ps. How incredible does this honey look?! 🤤can confirm it tastes as good as it looks.

Creation in isolation day 20✨

Sunset hangs on our freshly mown lawn with my iso buddies. We love dragging out our picnic blanket even if it’s just onto the lawn so we can read our books in the sun.

I snapped these photos on Sunday, today it’s raining and miserable again here and I’ve been working all day (doing product photos for clients) my inspiration today has been used up on work so I thought I’d share these instead because...who doesn’t like dogs? I’m going to pop some warm gear on and go stack some wood and grab some fresh air after being stuck behind the camera all day!
