From the maternity session, when everything is still anticipation…

To those first emotional hours of Fresh 48.

To family sessions filled with movement, laughter and chaos.

And all the way to first birthdays, cake smash mess and all the little milestones in between.

Dads are always such an important part of these memories.

And one of our favourite things to witness is how quickly they forget the camera once they look at their children.

They soften.

They smile differently.

They melt.

Because these photographs are not only about documenting a father with his child.

They are about preserving the way he loves them.

The way he holds them.
The way he protects them.
The way they look back at him.

Just him… so calm, so peaceful, so beautiful, so completely unique. 🤍

Jeremiah is the 11th child in a truly incredible family, and somehow, even with such a full house, what you feel most around them is calm.

Some families simply seem made for a big family life, and these parents carry it with so much love, confidence and grace. They are deeply proud of the family they have created, proud of seeing all their children together, and especially proud of those full tables, shared meals and the beautiful chaos that comes with so many lives growing under one roof.

Eleven children is certainly not for everyone, and that is exactly why I admire them so much.

There is something so grounding about the way they parent. So much serenity. So much affection. So much trust between them all.

Jeremiah has been born into a family where love is abundant, where connection is strong, and where being surrounded by siblings is simply part of what home feels like.

And looking at him here, so peaceful and content, it almost feels like he already knows he has landed exactly where he belongs. 🤍

One year old means movement, curiosity, clapping, crawling, laughing… and absolutely no interest in sitting still just because we asked. 😄

And honestly? We love it that way.

At Baby Love Images, we guide our little ones, but we never force them to stay in one place, look at the camera or perform for a photo.

We want them to feel comfortable enough to be themselves.

Because when a child is having fun, feeling safe and being respected, you can see it in every little expression.

The joy feels real.
The smiles come naturally.
And the photographs start to show not just what they looked like, but who they were in that moment.

Working with children takes patience, experience and the ability to follow their rhythm. And that’s something we’re incredibly proud of here.

Little Levi has had his first year documented with us month by month through our Watch Me Grow sessions, and now that he’s officially ONE, it was time for the full experience.

Photos with Mum and Dad, plenty of play, lots of personality… and of course, a cake all to himself. 🎂🤍

Some sessions hold more than beauty.
They hold meaning.

When a family brings something special into their newborn session — a korowai, a pounamu, a blanket, a piece that has been passed down, or simply something that feels deeply theirs — the photographs become even more personal.

They stop being only about how your baby looked in those first days,
and start holding something of where they come from too.

That is what I love most about documenting newborns in a meaningful way:
there is always space for softness, artistry, and also for identity.
For culture.
For belonging.
For the pieces that matter.

Your baby’s story is already beginning long before they will ever understand it.
And the little things you choose to wrap around them now can say so much —
about family, roots, love, and pride.
