A 59 image panorama of the 11/5 Aurora when it was going OFF!🔥 Taken from the Waituhi Scenic Lookout looking over Tongariro National Park.
When the lights started forming above our heads and the Aurora kept intensifying the buz was just something I can’t describe🤩

As the sun set and the aurora lights appeared over the Tongariro National park😍

I set out to travel a little further south in hopes to mayyybe get a sighting of the aurora and holyyyy did it put on a show! At one point the lights were forming directly above! It was difficult to take images when I just wanted to soak it all up with my own eyes🤩

Currently trying to stitch a large panorama together when the sky was really on fire!🔥

The Witch Head Nebula facing the bright star Rigel✨
Only captured 45mins of data before the bright light of the moon came over the horizon and ruined my fun🙄
Looking forward to capturing an entire nights worth of light from this one to capture more stunning detail… it might be my favourite nebula so far✨

Over the moon that my Papamoa Hills star trail image WON the 2023 NZ Astrophotography Nightscape category🤩
Still pinching myself! My first ever entry into a competition of this magnitude and I was of course the very last one to enter at 11.58pm with 2 minutes remaining until cut off! Phew!🥵😆
