We took a trip to Wellington yesterday to show our support to our amazing brothers and sisters that are holding the lines for us. Not once did we see anything that is portrayed in the mainstream media.
The vibe was relaxed, non judgmental and did not discriminate against gender, race or sexuality. There were people from all walks of life, some like myself had lost their jobs or even a loved one. I spoke to one woman that has had eggs and abuse thrown at her, she was in her 60s, kind and softly spoken. My heart hurt for her. I saw an old work contact that is no longer employed. He has so much passion for his job and while this is going on there are teens that are slipping further into a hole without his help.
I encourage anyone that can get to Wellington to go,if not to support our brothers and sister but to see for yourself “the small group of people” peaceful asking for our rights back. Unofficially I was told that on the hive grounds alone there is roughy 750 tents, this was without including the side streets and that approximately 25,000 people were there Saturday.
I have chosen to not stamp these photos as they don’t belong to me, they belong to us because as kiwis we are one and we need to remember that.
