I’m a passionate professional wedding, event and family photographer. I customize my sessions to you and your needs. I am very adaptable in my approach.

We have fun in my sessions and you get memories to keep for a lifetime. I’m a passionate photographer, with a big heart and I enjoy capturing those special moments. ✨️ URUMOKO | PAULYJAY MORGAN ✨️

What an incredible privilege it was to document this special day at Kearoa Marae in Horohoro.

These images capture only a small glimpse of the aroha, manaakitanga, whakapapa, laughter, tears, healing, pride, and connection that surrounded PaulyJay Morgan as she received and revealed her moko kauae alongside other mana wāhine during Urumoko.

As a photographer, there are days where you simply take photos. Then there are days where you are trusted to witness something deeply significant and sacred. This was one of those days.

What stands out most to me isn't just the moko itself. It's the whānau standing proudly beside her. The embraces. The tears. The smiles. The stories carried through generations. The photograph of tūpuna held close. The unwavering support of those who walked this journey with her.

Every image here represents a moment of connection, identity, belonging, and love.

Thank you, Pauly, for allowing me to capture these memories and preserve them for generations to come.

A pretty personal update.

My name is Liz Sturt the face behind the lens. I am now 42 years old a professional photographer with my business A Gifted View Photography and proud mum of three amazing, unique sons. Ngongotahā in Rotorua is my whenua, and I belong to numerous communities here and throughout the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, and Taupō regions.

These two photos were taken at the same roller derby event in November, two years apart.
At 38, my mind was sharp, but my body was struggling. My knees had become increasingly unstable and the breaking point came at a roller derby event when I couldn't walk up the stairs to get the angle I wanted to capture.. Standing there with my camera gear on, I realised something had to change.

I wanted to keep doing what I loved in capturing moments, telling stories, and sharing my passion for photography with the communities, families, organisations, and individuals who trust me to document their lives.

What followed was two years of downsizing, learning, growth, and understanding in many areas of my life and career

I understand how it feels to be uncomfortable in front of a camera because I have been there myself. I know the worries many women have about being photographed because I have carried those same worries.

As a photographer, that journey has made me better at what I do. Whether I'm photographing events, intimate weddings, newborns who always seem to get a few extra cuddles from me, or family sessions filled with laughter, I bring a deeper understanding and empathy to every client experience.

The woman on the left and the woman on the right are both me. Both are worthy. Both are capable. However one made the decision that she wanted more years doing what she loves, with the people and clients she loves.
It has taken me two years to share this, but I think it's finally time.

🌸💕 What a beautiful way to celebrate Mother’s Day at Living Well Church 💕🌸 Living Well Church

I was so honoured to capture these gorgeous family moments on Sunday with so many amazing mums, children, grandparents, and families coming together. The smiles, laughter, cuddles, and love made this day incredibly special. 📸✨

A day full of laughter, cheeky energy and whānau fun at Whakarewarewa Village, Rotorua with the beautiful Coffey-Smith whānau ❤️

Tutanekai absolutely stole the show — from swinging adventures to fierce poses amongst the stunning whakairo. These are the moments that make photography magic… genuine joy, connection and personality all wrapped into one.

A love like this 🤍

Watching this beautiful mama hold her pēpi, with dad right there behind them steady, proud, and full of love is everything.

Their little boy is already so surrounded by strength, warmth, and a whole whānau who adore him endlessly. From proud Koro to all his aunties and uncles, this precious boy is deeply loved 💙

Moments like this, by the water with Mokoia Island watching over, are the ones that stay forever.

One of my Fav annual photo sessions is with Mia and Zac which is always such a highlight.
This year was extra special because it was also Zac’s 10th birthday as he’s a Christmas Eve Eve baby! 🎄✨
I love seeing how much he’s grown each year, and the bond he shares with his mum is truly something special.
So grateful to capture moments like these. 💛

✨ Ahurie 2025 – Celebrating 50 Years! ✨
We’re proud to be part of this year’s Ahurie, marking 50 incredible years of this kaupapa for our Rotorua tamariki. These photos are from Kawaha Point School performing at Ahurie, a non-competitive event where our kids can stand tall and express themselves. It’s all about whanaungatanga, confidence, and celebrating our Māori performing arts in a supportive, uplifting space.
