RAW version of photos aren't always as questionable as this one was 😬
I had a vision but the ducks didn't stick to their script. Thankfully I'm a slave to Lightroom!

Side note:
I think if photographers were honest about their process, clients would probably be more understanding of why professional photos cost an arm and a leg!
Editing is big part of that professonal price tag guys. Hours of it, in fact!
Aunt Linda might be in your budget but can she perform miracles?

RAW is in the comments 🫣

OCTOBER SESSIONS - COUPLES & FAMILIES 👫👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
Wanting some updated photos for yourself or the family?
Now that the evenings are longer and it's coming into Christmas, it's the perfect time!

A couples session is gunna set you back $280.
That's $140 each, divide that per day for a year of memories and it's only $0.07 (girl math) not to mention your life time, AND you only have to pay $140 up front to secure your spot! It's not a lump sum payment. Save and pay the rest the day before your session.

What's included:
•45 minute session
•1 location
•No limit on hi res photo delivery
•Private, personalized online gallery

And a Family session won't set you back much more at just $350. If you have 5 people that's like $70 each and you can just deduct the $70 per child from their savings or something 😏 they won't know.
$175 up front to book, then you can save up and pay the rest off the day before your session.

Whats included:
•60 min session (5 people max)
•1 location
•No limit on high res photo delivery
•Private and personalized online gallery

Want to book? Head to my website, fill in the enquiry form or PM me here and I'll be in touch to sort a day and time that works for you! Easy peasy 😌

Photography is all about LIGHTING!

Now, comparing these photos you will notice quite a difference.

You could be led to believe that, two different photographers took them and edited them completely different, but actually, they have both been edited the EXACT same!
The only difference is lighting.

The first photo is shot at sunset aka golden hour and the second photo is shot on a sunny day at midday, under shade. (Unfortunately I don't have any photos to compare for an overcast day. But you best believe, that's a diff vibe again. Personally my fav though)

Both beautiful photos but it's a perfect example of why some sessions don't look 'the same'.
Same photographer, same camera, same edit style, it just comes down to different lighting.

So when choosing a photographer based on their 'edit style', also keep in mind what time of day you think the photos were taken and what you prefer the look of. Because neither choice is wrong, it's just different lighting 😊

Loooove playing around in lightroom creating presets! I created a 'Kodak film' type vibe. Soft, warm, grainy and gives a bit of a retro feel.
Definitely worlds apart from my usual editing style but I actually kinda love it!

Was so cool meeting you today and learning about your passion 🥰 excited to see what you captured today! You certainly have the right gear in comparison 🫣

Even from a birds eye view I think you can tell what spot this is 😅 If you're a Nelson local that is.Can you?

My job as a photographer isn't to 'just take photos' but to tell your story. How you felt in that moment and when you look back on them, you can relive that exact memory.

Remember who you were, how you felt, how the air smelt, the sun on your skin, the sound of the ocean, the sunset and the time you spend there.

Where not just taking photos, we're capturing your story ✨️
