IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!

I've decided it's time for me to separate my Photography business from my new baby; Light of Ray.
I feel strange posting spiritual stuff on this page, considering you all started following me for my photography. If I'm being honest I've been holding back from sharing a lot of the stuff I post on instagram, on here.
This page won't be used as much and my photography will be put on the back burner until I feel inspired to C R E A T E again.

BUT if you are drawn to spirituality, self development, Tarot readings, body love and women empowerment, then Light of Ray is the page to follow!

This image has captured one of my favorite moments. I live for this moment right here. The moment after I've said the closing prayer and I start to remove all the crystals that have been sitting on your body, the moment when I ask you to bring yourself back into the space and 9/10 you just lay there. There's a magic to your stillness, especially after I've just witnessed the storm you had within you. Your breath is slow and oh so soft. Your eyes and nose are red from crying, you stretch and a little smile comes over your face as you try to find words to describe how you are feeling.

I live for the comments afterwards, the "WOWS", the speechless grunts, the "I feel lighter" and every now and again my favorite one will spill out of your mouth and say "I'm free".
Trauma Shifting sessions have become so poetic for me, there is something so ancient and comforting about these sessions. It's an honour that I get to be a space for you to guide your own healing. Thank you all for trusting me so deeply.

GUESS WHAT!!??

I've been organizing an incredibly powerful event to bring to women all around Taranaki. That's right honey, LIGHT OF RAY IS GOING ON TOUR 😉🤣 After my New moon ceremony I told Kim that I wanted to go to different locations around Taranaki and host circles, the next day I got a phonecall from my friend telling me I needed to host my events in different towns within the region... (OKAY UNIVERSE I HEAR YOUUUUU!!)

So here I am, putting my trust in the universe that I will find venues! I have no time frame, but I know I will reach you all when it's time. I'm kicking this event off on the 30th of May in New Plymouth, this event will be announced on Monday next week.

So if you have a venue where you are that you think would be perfect, please message me! Towns of interest are: Hawera, Stratford, Waitara, Urenui and Opunake.

Today I added a Blessing Bowl ritual into my sessions. I wanted something extra for people to create intentions and blessings for themselves when they have a session with me. I love harnessing the power of our elements and of ourselves, so I've pulled it all together and placed it into one sweet little ritual.

Water: Our emotions and flow
Salt: Protection
Fire: Intention setting
Flowers: Planting our blessings
Smoke represents air.

ROOT CHAKRA MANTRAS.

Stand, lay down or sit, lengthening your back and relaxing your shoulders, place your hands on either your hips or lower back and start to inhale and exhale slowly, when you feel you are in a receptive state you can start to repeat each mantra until you feel them settle within you.
After doing this myself I have experienced the mantra repeating itself in my mind for awhile after. Really powerful. I have also used these in my Trauma Shifting sessions when I feel my client has an imbalance in their root chakra.

Have you tried or heard of tonal work before?

We are conditioned to silence our natural sound or made to feel that any noises we make other than speaking, laughing, yelling or singing, are 'weird'. But during childbirth and dare I say... s*x... our throats open up and we make sounds to pull us through. Ever notice how good you feel after a big breath in and HUGE sigh out? Sound is a release. Sound can be healing. I learnt this through performing arts with Turongo Collective .

It's such a privilege to be able to do healing work with my partner like this. We don't do it often but when we do, it's pretty magical. This is just a SNIPPET of the process! Kim experienced pins and needles in her face during this, as well as a numb knee. We located a pain in her back which often links back to stress and worry, very relatable for my little Libra who just wants to do her best every. single. day. She also spoke about how after the session she felt lighter, like she had moved through the negative energy cloud she was sitting in.
