Just over a week ago I had the honour to witness (literally cause I signed that document too) Doug and Michaela elope just beneath New Zealand's highest peak, Aoraki/Mount Cook ✨

I have finally got around to sharing a little bit of this day with ya’ll! Including a little behind the scenes/phone shots too. Had to share with all you wonderful people!

I still don’t have words to describe how incredibly awesome this experience was. In such a location with these two wonderful humans, this was and is one of my top highlights from this photog journey.

We had such a delightful time picnicking on the side of the road to eat and cut the cake, letting my toes get super cold and wet while trudging though snow then feeling them defrost when we landed back into 22+ heat (was leaving wet footprints as I walked), chatting life and deep stuff as we galloped around the area taking more and more photos, embracing the packhorse role and I could go on and on. But I really just wanna say, thank you Doug and Michaela for trusting and inviting me to part of your day, part of this moment and this experience - I will never forget it.

Still on a highhhhhh! Congratulations Doug and Michaela 🎉

Oh yes it’s me 👇🏻 and I thought I’d do something different today and share a little on how I started this photo gig. Settle in folks 😉.

Camera’s have always been part of my life ever since I can remember. I loved (and still do) being in-front of the camera. When I was young it was take pictures of anything and everything then grab Mums lipstick, a sister and we’d take photos of ourselves reenacting Americas Next Top Model - oh those were the days.

Life went on and I’m off to Uni to study the study of people, that lasted not long (that’s a whole other story 🤪😍) and it wasn’t till I was back home, back to my job when I picked up the camera again and oh boy, did I loved it. There is something about having this idea in your head and when it comes to life through a camera - it’s just pure awesome. That was my passion.

So I bought a decent camera, took up opportunities, hit up YouTube for help and kept creating. But it soon got to a point, that by mid-2019 I had booked over 14 weddings, and I had a niggly feeling this photography thing was going somewhere. So, with a nod from Jesus and full trust in Him, I resigned from my job and went full time. Sometimes you just gotta take that massive leap of faith no matter what the timing is like.

Fast forward a year and a bit, here I am. Still full time and even though there are a lot of highs and lows, I absolutely love it ✨.
This job is so much more than taking pretty pictures. To me the best part is the privilege I have of showing people how INCREDIBLY unique and beautiful they really are. And this is my passion is now.
