Just south of Kairakau Beach is this gem - Mangakuri Beach. Great for long walks as it's about 2km long. Lots of bird life to the south. This video was taken on 21st of Feb and we saw more people on the beach than ever before - about 20! Three on horseback.
You can just about see the rocky islands off Kairakau Beach and even Te Motu-o-Kura (Bare Island) which is off Waimarama Beach further north.

My first go at drone wedding photography... not bad apart from nearly taking the official wedding photographers head off! Probably should have got a little closer as well... you live and learn!

I saw a hawk and thought I'd try and track it but it was long gone by the time i got the drone set up... note to self, "be prepared"! I should have been a scout... oh, wait... i was! Should have known better!

Great memories of exploring the creek off Kairakau Beach on a kayak with the boys... we got much further than the done as it didn't like the steep cliffs!
