This may be an unpopular opinion… But i dont believe that wedding photos should just be about “perfect portraits”…

I believe wedding (or event) photos should be about moments like this!!… Groomsmen being ✨unapologetically themselves✨

Sometimes the “best photos” actually arent the perfectly posed ones! But instead, the photos where personalities take over. TRUE laughter, AUTHENTIC chaos, all the REAL moments in between…

& thats also why i love black & white too…

Without the distraction of colour, you can see more of the essence of a moment🥰

And sometimes… that essence looks like a group of groomsmen being absolute goofballs😂

A re-edit from my first ever wedding. When i originally captured this, i was still learning, still becoming…

Looking back now, i dont see “failures”…
i see the beginning of something beautiful.
i see love. i see growth. i see why i started.

We dont grow by waiting to be “ready”…
We grow by showing up👏

I was learning. I was scared. I was told I didnt belong…

But LOVE, TRUST & FAITH, mattered MORE, than fear.
& my growth came from saying YES.🥰

Learning in real time, is not something to be ashamed of!

This is for anyone whose been told to “stay in their lane”… Sometimes, your lane is the one you actually build yourself.🤍

The world needs more stories told of LOVE, not just ones of “perfection”.

So, im still learning, still becoming.

And thats ✨OK✨

No one is perfect.
No one has life all figured out.

We are all just leaves drifting down the same river…
Let it flow👌🥰🍂

If you’re on any kind of self-learning journey too, one thing to always remember is this: YOU & your clients are the ONLY opinions that matter at the end of the day🤍

If your clients see your work as beautiful, worthy & valuable, they are ✨ALLOWED✨ to feel that way...

So if someone sitting on your sidelines, ever tries to tear you down, telling you your work isnt “good enough” or that you “dont deserve to take up space in this industry” please KNOW that their opinion simply doesnt matter🫶 They dont have to book your services, they dont have to be apart of your journey, & well, they dont pay your bills💁‍♀️…

Stay focused on what DOES matter. Take onboard✨KIND✨, constructive feedback, and let the naysayers fade into the background…

You are allowed to take up space,
to learn something new,
to have fun,
to explore what lights you up,
explore without permission…

We are just tiny humans spinning on a giant rock through space, it really isn’t that serious🤣

While this was my absolute favourite scene, it was also such a struggle for me as a photographer with no zoom lens. Im still so happy with how they came out though!

YET, its still one of my favourite photos, its proof that natural beauty, nature & passion never “go out of style”🥰

Ive been exploring new ways to enhance my work, check out these before & afters. It may seem like small changes but to my eyes, theyre big changes! Especially considering its a old photo, on a budget camera, terrible lens, back when i didnt know my way around my camera functions very well at all. I was only just learning!☺️
