Day 5 of posting my favourite photos of 2025 📸

“Big strides, bigger heart”

I love today’s photo not only because it’s a cool action shot, but because of what lead to that smile in that moment. This was taken during a clinic where english riders came to experience western disciplines (which is awesome, I love when people try new things!), and this photo was taken during a barrel racing lesson.

Well, if you know anything about horses, you know that Clydesdales aren’t built for speed and tight turns, but this guy was just willing to give his all and they both managed to run a great barrel pattern all the way to the finish line! 🐴🛢️🔥

Today’s photo is one of my favourite of 2025 because it’s candid nature represents the bond and partnership that Deana and her horse, Tank, have now been sharing for many years. This shot was taken at the end of a five hour ride in the mountains of New Zealand, where we had to move some of the herd to a new location for the summer.

"Effortlessly majestic”

They say a dirty horse is a happy horse - and I couldn’t agree more! I took this photo in New Zealand during a herd walk last winter at work. I just love the simplicity of this photo. No frills, nothing fancy or prepared - Just a fluffy horse in the middle of his winter break enjoying a sunny day in the mountains with his herd!
