Second session back in Aotearoa. After our wānanga up north we pulled in to see a mate. Intention was to harvest 2 kingfish for a kura, however the vis and water temp meant the kingfish were far and few between resulting in NONE even seen!
First time struggling with water temp. The shivers had set in after the first 30 minutes in the water and had to STAY IN IT , push through. This meant my breath hold was only averaging around 45 seconds!
Started loosing my cognitive responses and making poor decisions which led to unsuccessful hunts.
Shifted the attention to snapper and managed to shoot 4 which ended up working out the same.
Snapper were all over the reef like stray cats waiting for a feed outside a restaurant.
Captain Jonny Hudson a great host, boatman, kaitiaki and spearo 🙏🏻🌟
