How did we get here so fast, my little love?

You are joy, cheekiness, LOUD, confidence and determination all wrapped up into one tiny person.

You have a way of commanding attention wherever you go, and all eyes seem to find you the moment you enter a room.

Your gorgeous big blue eyes leave me breathless daily, but it is your fiery spirit that captivates me most. You teach me to laugh louder, embrace the mess, and say yes to adventure. The world feels a little brighter through your eyes, my darling.

You’re such a free spirit, and I love watching you relentlessly chase after your big sister. She is your whole world, and seeing the way your face lights up when she notices you is something I’ll never grow tired of watching.

You make me so proud to be your māmā, and I can’t wait to watch your strong, vibrant personality continue to unfold this year.

I have no doubt you will leave your mark on this world simply by being exactly who you are.

TORU,

I sit here reflecting on the past three years since you arrived earth-side, and I can’t help but feel so proud to be your māmā.

You are the kindest girl I know. Determined, strong-willed, and wonderfully silly in your own quirky way.

People are drawn in by your gorgeous big brown eyes, but it’s your āhua and wairua they soon come to adore. Your bubbly, gentle nature leaves a mark on everyone fortunate enough to cross paths with you.

I always dreamt of having a little girl to love, and then you came along and became so much more than I ever imagined.

You have taught me to slow down, be curious about everything, find beauty in the ordinary, and love more deeply than I ever thought possible. Even on the hard days, I would choose you over and over again.

I hope you never lose your kind nature, Paia girl. It is one of the many things that makes you so special.

I almost didn’t go to the playgroup that Tuesday.

I was tired, in the thick of it with two under two, and the idea of making small talk with new people felt like too much.

But I went… and that’s where I met this beautiful mum.

What started as a simple conversation between two mums with babies has turned into such a special friendship and now I get to photograph her and her boys, which feels like a huge privilege.

Motherhood can feel so full, but also quietly lonely at times.
And finding your people in this season isn’t always easy when your days revolve around your little ones.

But sometimes it starts with just showing up.

To any new mum reading this ~ go to the playgroup, join the mums group, sit next to someone new. You never know who might end up becoming part of your village x

I’ll always have a soft spot for golden hour sessions in nature… there’s something about that light at sunset that feels like magic 💫

But I also know, in this season of life, getting out the door with little ones can feel like a lot.

Packing everything up, timing it right, hoping everyone holds it together until you arrive…

Sometimes it’s enough to make you put it in the “maybe later” basket.

And I don’t want you to miss this season because of that.

That’s where in-home sessions come in.

You don’t have to go anywhere. Your children are already comfortable. Everything feels a little more settled, a little more you.

I gently guide things in a way that feels easy and child-led, so you’re not managing the moment, you’re just in it.

Especially in the cooler months, these sessions hold something really special.

And years from now, it won’t matter where it was taken… just that you were there, in it, loving them like this.
