Hope you’re all doing well? I’ve been watching train and travel videos on YouTube and thinking that I need to go on an adventure… which I can’t afford at the moment + it would be difficult with the current state of the world!

So, I’m going back over the footage from a trip to back in 2003… this clip is part of a helicopter ride up to - I’ll try and edit the whole NZ trip up and upload to - there’s some great footage of the Hobbiton set and so much more…

This is basically a test to see if upscaling the old footage works okay?

You can see the original resolution of the video at the end of the clip… there’s not a lot of pixels!

I really liked that Ben Folds five tshirt - it was a good one! 😉

Would you like to see more from this 2003 trip?

There’s lots of Lord of the Rings related footage as that was a big part of the holiday, including the first public session of Return of the King at the Embassy Cinema in Wellington! Great memories… an amazing holiday in a beautiful country!

A few aerial photos taken while flying back to Adelaide from Coober Pedy back in 2019.

I’d forgotten about these shots… I was actually looking for some photos and video from when I worked on Mortal Kombat as I plan to do a Patreon exclusive post sharing my experience working on set as a casual with the SFX crew.

I recently got a very cool electric bike for my birthday... and now that things are settling down after a few weeks of family heartbreak and loss (it’s a long story), I just went for a nice ride up to Belair National Park. I’m looking forward to taking my camera on a few trips in the near future 🌤

Wow! Not bad for a film shot in - Most viewed red band trailer of all time 🤯

I really enjoyed working with the SFX team on set! An amazingly cool experience 🧊 It’s incredible to see how people are responding - I hope the film is as good as the trailer! 💥

I got contacted recently by a friend who wanted to know if I had an old Sony mini DV cam? It was needed to shoot specific footage for a feature film being shot in Adelaide - I happened to still have an old one, which I bought on a 2003 (Lord of the Rings) holiday in NZ 😊 I was happy to help out, but I couldn’t bring myself to sell it, so they borrowed it 👍🏼 Funny to think that it’s now been used on a feature film 🤪

✨ I plan to share some of the footage from that 2003 NZ trip sometime soon... as it never made it online - Hobbiton set tour, helicopter flight to Franz Joseph glacier and more!
