Celebrating the last day at Avondale and thanks to the AJC giving us the Race Images Appreciation Maiden, thanks goes to our man Kenton Wright for all his work at the course over the years.

It was also part of the Race Images Amateur series - congratulations to Monique Dey on her first win in the series. We love supporting the amateurs and this years series is looking great with new talent coming through to the industry.

Waverly races yesterday added a new "first" for our keen new photographer Jane Davidson, now covering race meetings in the CD.
Many will remember her as Jane McGuinness. Jane had her first trial ride at Waverley, then her first raceday ride, which was also her first win as an apprentice.
Only natural that Waverley would also be her first day as solo photographer. It's a big day, with lots of pressure to cover everything, running cameras and new computer programs.

Our photographers had a huge day at Racing Te Aroha on Sunday capturing so many events.
The conclusion to the Race Images Amateur Series won by Abhey Seesa as well as Jesko winning for Shaun and Hazel and many owners including the Frac Club.

Emily Farr had an exciting day out at Woodville-Pahiatua Racing Club on Sunday, landing her 100th career win on Keepz Occuring for Lydia Pickford. She capped that with her win in the following hurdle on The Bambino.
Her first win was on Cash Kingdom.

With the passing of Herbie Rauhihi at the weekend, lots of memories have been shared of his deeds in the saddle.
Among his wins were horses like Every Post, Young Ida and Fans.
Also wins in the Grand National and shown here on Agra at Manawatu, and his Foxton Cup win on Laramie.
We took a dive into our archives and found a few memories to scan up. Many of these are thanks to our collection of Ken Lush photos.
Hardest to find was the presentation by Queen Elisabeth, I missed the media deadline with this, but perseverance paid off in the end. This must have been a proud moment.

With the start of the Amateur Riders series today at Wanganui we saw an exciting finish, with Tylah Mercer on Tuesday winning the first event in the Race Images NZ Amateur Riders series.
We have been so lucky to be involved in this event as a sponsor, we ride on the coattails of FLAIR, who first supported the amateur series for many years with is this competition and made it what it is today.
We had two new riders having their first start, adding to the thrill of all those riders from throughout the industry who take part.
There are many trainers and riders who have riden in the series previously. We wish this years participants all the best.

Tribute to Johnathan Parkes (Parksey) unveiled at Wanganui Jockey Club today, with a large crowd of supporters and family there to here a few words about a hard working jockey, and well respected member of the racing community.
