The sky was quite whispy with no real signs of it changing colour. It went white, I didn't really think anything of it. If I knew it was going to turn out like this, I would have organized a hike to capture this from the top of Queenstown Hill! Instead I ended up running out of the house with my camera and took this from the ledge of Arrowtown πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

This image was taken at the last possible moment. I have never taken a proper sunset photo before, this was my first attempt at doing so πŸ‘Œ

On our way down from The Remarkables I had almost lost hope for a nice sky until I saw this on the road down with the sun only just peaking over the hill.

After an encounter with a Chamois, we ended up hiking to Lake Alta. Unfortunately the lake didn't have the right lighting conditions at that time of day. So instead we decided to hike back down and change our attention towards the top chairlift. Once we got there, the hike continued up the rockface to the top of the saddle which then greeted us with this stunning view towards Wye Creek.

This is a New Zealand Chamois which allowed me to get within about two meters of it, very friendly creature and the first time I have ever encountered one! It followed some hikers down the mountain for about 45 minutes before changing it's attention to Echo, our Pomsky and allowing me to capture this.

Here is a shot of the Ho**er Glacier, which is at the base of Aoraki / Mount Cook in the Southern Alps of New Zealand. This glacier is roughly 11 kilometres in length. The current glacier lake only started to form in the 1970s, left behind as the Ho**er Glacier retreated. Like many of the glaciers in the Southern Alps, Ho**er Glacier is rapidly melting, making the glacier lake continue to grow. It is a beautiful walk and worth a visit when you are visiting Mount Cook.

Went back to our favorite spot today. Mount Cook, you have so many sides and I plan to capture them all! The mountain delivered a fantastic day, regardless of not being able to see the peak due to weather, the colors were stunning! πŸ₯Ά

Here's a shot I took near Lake Ohau, one of the many tracks leading off the main road into the lodge had an amazing walk and only 30 to 40 minutes into it we came across this creek! So of course I had to stop so I could share this amazing scene with the world! Happy Friday everyone! ☺️

If it wasn't so cold here, I'd pitch a tent and sleep here for an entire week just to capture the many sides this beautiful piece of nature has to offer. I salute anyone who sleeps here to capture Mount Cook's beauty around 3am! The Milky way reflecting off the glacier water would be breathtaking, I need to do it at least once this winter πŸ˜‚

Who said you needed to be at Mount Cook on the perfect day? Sure, we couldn't see the mountain, but waking up to this first thing in the morning made the trip well worth it! Our helicopter ride to the top of Mount Cook was cancelled due to bad weather. However, one would argue that it was actually a blessing as we would not have been able to see anything and rescheduling gives us a reason to go back to this special place! πŸ™ƒ

Not your everyday kind of shot. Believe it or not, but this photograph of a Kea flying over the mountain top was actually taken from a moving car on my way to Mount Cook the other day. I'm pretty pleased with how this has turned out considering it was not just the bird moving during this shot! πŸ€ͺ
