So, I heard yet another Wedding photographer horror story today and although I have refrained from posting anything like this in the past, it’s something I hear too often. The wedding day passes, the photos take forever to be processed / supplied by the photographer; sometimes after many, many emails and phone calls are exchanged. Then, when the images are finally provided they are of poor quality and people are unhappy.

So... please, please, do yourself a huge favour when you are getting someone to take your photos, whether it’s Uncle Bill or that friend of a friend who is always posting those sweet images on FB or instagram, you really should ask them a couple of questions. Ask them if they will be shooting all your images on the day in RAW format; if this returns a no, move on quickly, if it returns a blank stare, possibly run. Please also check out their work, but to be more precise, their wedding work. See what they are capable of delivering before you commit to them, it’s your big day, not a practice run for them. Hopefully that'll save someone some heartache, rant over.

One way of approaching this is to have them show me images of themselves that they like, and those that they don't."
