Race day!

Round 2 of the Southern Race Series Formula 3.

This was my second time ever at Ruapuna, and I'm still learning the track. I went straight to qualifying and placed on grid 21.

Race 1 had an okay start, and I got into 13th place until I found a false neutral going into turn 3, nearly going off track and losing 2 places on lap 4. I placed 15th overall / 2nd in Protwin.

Race 2 had a better start. This was an 8-lap race, and I was pacing it out, getting into the groove, and finding my lines. I placed 12th overall / 3rd in Protwin.

Race 3 had a great start. The race was shortened to 5 laps due to delays. I was battling for 7th, and on the last lap, I was exhausted, and my body was feeling it. All I could do was bring it home. I placed 8th overall / 3rd in Protwin.

I am pretty stoked that I knocked 2 seconds off my personal best with a 1:46.8 and am keen to get more time at Ruapuna to learn and improve.

Bring on round 3 at Teretonga this sunday!

60 years in service came to a roughly 250 meter end today as NZ7001 came to its final resting place, the Air Force Museum of New Zealand. What a way to send it off

The Aurora Australis put on a lil show this evening!
Got a few shots but this was one of my favorites.
Sadly didn't last long, but for the short time, it was beautiful
