I've just loaded a studio sale onto my website - these special prices are for the remaining prints from my exhibition and there's only a select amount left. I need to clear the space in my studio so off they go. Some of the prices are REALLY GOOD.

10% off printed to order, too!

Any questions let me know. Go to https://www.chrissyirvine.com/prints - scroll down and you'll see what ones are for sale. Or go through the link in my bio.

Thanks heaps for your ongoing support!

Weaving in and out of urban Japan as well as its meticulously curated gardens, Irvine documents her understanding of the Japanese term 'Mono No Aware'- translated as: precarious beauty, fleeting moments in time. These ideas embed themselves into the work, often in a deeply personal way.

Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Chrysanthemum Exhibition

The inspector…

"The exhibition has been held since 1915 and today displays approximately 2,000 chrysanthemum. You can also buy seeds and learn how to grow the flowers yourself. Although one of the most well known displays in Tokyo, the shaded Kusachi Hiroba is not the nicest area of the park and the drab temporary booths in which the Chrysanthemum flowers are displayed make you feel like you’re at a vegetable-judging contest."

Hotel Nikko and The Crossing next to each other at the Passing Fuji exhibition.

I had a lot of fun sequencing this exhibition. So many of the images worked together as diptychs so we rolled with that idea for the hang of the show.

We are selling our beautiful home this year 😥 in order to make the move to Nelson after our second baby is born and settled.

Part of the staging process was to hang 1 x 1m prints from Passing Fuji in our house - we had moved from a 2 bedroom to a 4 bedroom with these huge walls. I hadn't managed to fill in the short time we lived there, so putting up the prints really made the house pop!

It made me realise I should never underestimate the right sized piece of art for a space. Especially, especially, in a new build - where white walls and minimalism can overtake a space and make it feel cold. Art on the walls helps a home feel like home, and creates a reflection of the people who live there.

I swear I'll show you some other photos other than The Pond I from Passing Fuji soon, there are 24 photos all up. They are available on my online store in four different sizes, or get in touch for custom sizing for your special space. Being medium format, they are able to go pretty big!

A special thanks to for photographing our home and for this photo.
