Almost one year ago Marshall asked Ruby a very important question… and she said yes 🤍

And now, almost a year later, I’m about to jump on a plane to Invercargill to photograph the next chapter - their wedding day 🥹

Can’t wait to see you Marshall and Ruby and have the best time capturing this most special of days 🤍 📷

A first glimpse into yesterday’s shoot at THOLSIE & CO. | Christchurch Florist.

It was such a privilege to photograph this collaborative shoot alongside an incredibly talented group of creatives.

Elevated elegance was the brief, and this dream team absolutely delivered.

Rosie wore a stunning gown featuring a fitted silhouette with a sheer pearl-embellished bodice and sleeves, adding beautiful texture and timeless sophistication.

This is the first of two completely different looks we created together. I can’t wait to share the second.

Don’t forget to enter our special giveaway if you haven’t already. You’ll find all the details on my feed 🤍

I had the privilege of documenting a darling little baby and her two incredible parents recently. Receiving this message afterwards meant so much ❤️

Also a little note on privacy. Your photographs are first and foremost for you and your family, and I want every family to feel completely comfortable with how their images are used. Some families love sharing a few favourites, while others prefer to keep those memories quietly at home. Both choices are absolutely okay. There will never be any pressure from me either way. I will always respect what feels right for you and handle your photographs thoughtfully ❤️

A few fun behind-the-scenes moments from Leigh and Rachel’s very rainy wedding day, all in black and white!

It rained for much of the day, but they took it completely in their stride. They stayed flexible, trusted the plan, and we had so much fun!

So… three tips from me for an amazing wedding day, whatever the weather:
1. Focus on the experience, not the forecast. Easier said than done but truly, the weather is only one part of the day ❤️
2. Build a little flexibility into your timeline so you can take advantage of any dry spells.
3. Trust your photographer and other vendors. We are always watching the conditions and adjusting the plan behind the scenes.

Three practical ways to plan for rain:
1. Plan ahead and find an indoor option or covered spaces for portraits in case it does rain. Big trees and buildings can work well for this.
2. Have umbrellas ready for the wedding party, ideally clear. You can buy these in the week before the wedding once the forecast is available.
3. Bring a second pair of shoes if you are planning to explore outdoors 😅

They say that rain is a sign of blessing, renewal and a fresh beginning. It certainly felt like that for Leigh and Rachel’s beautiful wedding! A great reminder that rain does not have to ruin a wedding day. Sometimes it creates the atmosphere and unexpected moments that make the story even more memorable 👌

One of my favourite things about photography in the great outdoors is the unexpected moments.

The other night I was photographing a family session on the Port Hills and noticed Kevin and Evan setting up this curious scene with the city stretching out below.

Once the sun had set I’d said farewell to my lovely family, I went over to catch up. It turned out this was the final shooting session for Kevin’s documentary about Evan from Dead Video, following his mission to keep physical media relevant! Perfect timing for me to grab a free behind the scenes moment while Kevin worked his cinematic magic!

A fun detail that deserves its own moment. ✨

This stunning floral clutch was the perfect finishing touch, picking up the delicate textures of Rebekah’s dress while adding the softest touch of colour. A beautiful reminder that bridal accessories can be every bit as memorable as the gown itself.

Sharing a few more previews from Daisy (AuburnPanda❤️🐼) and Luke’s (Luke Turner) magical Hobbiton wedding ✨

This time, from our wander together around Hobbiton after the ceremony. We had our own private guided tour, stopping to explore hobbit holes, specially crafted details and take in the rolling green hills.

While we explored, their guests were treated to a private guided tour of their own, complete with a maypole! It was such a fun way for everyone to experience Hobbiton and fully embrace the magic of the day.

Every part of this wedding felt thoughtful, immersive and completely true to Daisy and Luke. There are still so many more moments I would love to share 🤍
