How did I get here?

I took what the world called my "disorder" and turned it into cashflow.

For years, I thought my brain worked against me. The constant ideas, the need for movement, the inability to stay in one lane. Then I realised it wasn't a weakness — it was actually my superpower.

I started using my own lived experience, the paths I'd already walked, the mistakes I'd already made, and turned them into something that could help others.

That's how Atawhai Business For Creative Thinkers was born.

A space for creative thinkers, dreamers, and people with big ideas who just need a little support bringing them to life.

What works for me is that I get to dip in and out of different businesses, industries, and projects. It keeps my creative brain engaged, fuels the dopamine I need, and allows me to bring fresh ideas and strategic thinking to every client I work with.

Most of my clients are completely new to business. Some have already started but need a little guidance, structure, or someone to give them that gentle push to take the next step.

Sometimes people don't need someone to do it all for them.

Sometimes they just need someone beside them saying:

"You've got this. Here's the next step."

And that's exactly where I fit in. 🤍

One of my current clients is getting ready to launch her very own online lash course very soon! 😍

Phase 1 has been all about building the foundations before launch. Together we've worked through:

Watching an idea go from a conversation to a real business is always one of my favourite parts of what I do. Now we're getting close to the exciting part sharing it with the world! 🚀

Not every client needs a full business setup, website, branding package, or ongoing mentoring.

Sometimes it's the little pieces in between that make the biggest difference.

A quick strategy session, help with systems, guidance around suppliers, setting up accounts, pricing, cashflow, content ideas, or simply having someone to bounce ideas off can be enough to get things flowing properly.

Every business is different. Every owner is different.

My role isn't to fit everyone into the same box it's to step in where support is needed, help fill the gaps, and make sure the foundations are strong enough for the next stage of growth.

Come along behind the scenes with some of the incredible clients I've had the privilege of supporting as they turn an idea into action and make the move to bring their businesses to life.

People often ask me exactly what I do, and the truth is it's hard to pinpoint. Every client is different. Every business is different. Every dream, challenge, goal, and starting point is different.

Over the next 10 days, I'll be sharing some of the projects I've worked on and the journey behind them.

For some clients, that looks like business setup, registrations, systems, accounts, budgeting, cashflow and planning. For others, it's websites, branding, content shoots, social media, supplier liaison, stock ordering, shipments, launches, pop-up shops, operations, problem solving, or simply having someone in their corner to help them take the next step.

I don't pretend to know everything, but I do bring 15 years of lived experience in business, lessons learned the hard way, wins, failures, pivots, and growth. My role is simply to meet people where they're at and help them get where they're trying to go.

My ADHD in real life 🤣🤣

Come shopping with me while I did up our THIRD waiting area at Brother Tip Tattoo & Art 😂

I went in for a few things and somehow left with a trolley full of "essentials" that definitely weren't on the list.

One cushion turned into pyjamas
One plant turned into a jungle.
One item turned into 20.

The ADHD brain said:
Well if we're buying one thing, we may as well make the whole space look amazing. 🤣

But honestly, this is how a lot of my ideas come to life. What starts as a tiny improvement somehow turns into a full-blown project. Sometimes it's chaos, sometimes it's expensive, but most of the time it creates something pretty cool.

Now our THIRD waiting area is looking fresh and ready for our clients. ❤️

ADHD is wild but I wouldn't trade the creativity, vision, and ability to see the finished picture before it even exists.

Who else goes shopping for ONE thing and comes home with an entire new room? 😂👇🏼

Today I had the privilege of attending a beautiful Pink Ribbon Breakfast hosted by the incredible Ronda Siaki, owner of Nspyre Red Hair Design.

A huge mihi and so much love to all the beautiful survivors who shared their stories today. I won't lie, there were tears. Their strength, courage, and honesty touched every person in that room.

It was a powerful morning surrounded by women in business, community leaders, survivors, whānau, and supporters. I learnt so much today about how many people are affected by breast cancer and cancer in general throughout Aotearoa. It impacts our Māori, Pacific, and wider communities in ways many of us don't always see until it touches someone we love.

The stories shared today reminded me of a post I wrote today: Choose Your Hard.

Life will bring hard seasons whether we are ready for them or not. Some seasons are heavier than others. Some battles are visible, and some are fought quietly behind closed doors. Today's speakers reminded me how important it is to love what you have, appreciate the people around you, and never take a single day for granted.

Thank you to everyone who shared their journey. Your stories mattered, your voices were heard, and your strength inspired us all. 💗
