To top things off for today, I thought I'd also post some of my favourites from last year😌 These ones were for my final project of my degree where I made a fashion magazine, and I think these were taken between August and November of 2020!! I was lucky to have the chance to shoot this fun murder mystery dinner party for Joshua and his flat not too long ago, absolutely loved it!! Gotta hand it to these guys, everyone looked great and the costumes were spot on 👌🏼

So it turns out I haven't made a post here since May, which could be due to being busy or not being used to posting to Facebook😅 I did a poll over on my Instagram (, I'm a lot more active over there hahah) to see if yall wanted to see my stuff over here too, so here I am checking in with some photos!!

It's probably about time I posted something here huh?

Here are some photos I did for my friend Kate cosplaying as Coraline! We thought now was the perfect time to shoot these since the Autumn colours in the Christchurch Botanical Gardens fit the vibe we were going for perfectly. I'm super stoked with these photos, and I hope you like them too! Also a huge thanks to Kate for doing this photoshoot with me!

Hello! I thought it was about time I made a page for my photography, so here we are. If you don’t know me then hey! My name is Mel, and I’m a photographer based in Christchurch, New Zealand. I just finished working towards a Bachelor of Design, specialised in photography and am now trying to make my dreams a reality. My main genres are fashion and portraiture, with a bit of surrealism as the cherry on top. With saying that though, I love experimenting and expanding my knowledge, so I’m keen to photograph almost anything.
Alongside working on my own projects and showing my personal perspective of the world through a camera lens, I love working alongside people and providing them with photos that capture gorgeous memories and equally gorgeous people. Photos are so important, they’re a moment frozen in time that will last forever, and I think that’s something really special.
I’m really looking forward to connecting with you here, and if you would like to book a photoshoot, please don’t hesitate to get in touch! I would love to hear from you ☺️ I’ll be posting some of my work here very, very soon - or in the meantime you can head over to my Instagram . With that said, I’ll leave you with these two self portraits. The first taken at the end of October as a business portrait, and the second was at the end of November to say a bittersweet farewell to the Ara studio, where many images of mine were shot over the past three years.
