Sometimes you don’t realise just how much you’ll want these memories until your baby is finally here.

I first met Jenny at the Baby Expo, and at the time she wasn’t completely sure whether newborn portraits were something she wanted.

Then wee Korah arrived… and suddenly, she knew she had to capture this tiny, fleeting stage.

And I’m so glad she did. Just look at this little face, all snuggled up with her bunny amongst the flowers.......not to mention the sweet smile she gave me!

Newborn sessions are usually best booked before baby arrives, so I can keep space around your due date. But babies have their own timetable, which means my calendar can sometimes have a last-minute opening.

So if your little one is already here, or arriving very soon, and you thought you’d left it too late, please still send me a message. You might just get lucky and find I have a spot available.

Because they really are only this tiny for such a short time.

One of my favourite parts of this business is getting to watch families grow.

I first photographed these two for their maternity portraits, while they were waiting to meet their little girl. So when they got in touch wanting to come back for family portraits, I was genuinely so excited to see them again, this time as a family of three.

There’s something really special about being invited back into these different seasons of a family’s life. Getting to know my clients, watching their babies arrive and grow, and creating photographs for them along the way is such a huge part of why I love what I do.

From a maternity session to cuddles under the spring blossoms with their beautiful girl.

I hope this is only one of many chapters I get to photograph for them ❤❤❤

A completely different setting, and I LOVE how different the feeling is.
From flowers and colour to something moodier, earthy and a little bit magical.

There’s something so beautiful about photographing pregnancy amongst all that greenery. Anna looks incredible, but what I love most about these images is the stillness of them. That quiet little pause before everything changes.

Your maternity session isn’t just about documenting your bump. It’s about remembering you in this chapter too. The anticipation. The excitement. The waiting. The woman you were just before you became Mum to this little person.

There are some locations that almost do the storytelling for you. 🌸

This shoot was in Auckland and booked around a trip I already had planned, so postponing if it rained wasn’t really an option. I’d been searching for beautiful rain-friendly locations and, I kid you not, when the gardener said I could shoot in here, I let out an actual squeal of excitement. 😂

I mean... LOOK AT IT.

Surrounded by flowers, soft light and colour everywhere, Anna looked absolutely beautiful. Having her partner step in for a few frames made it even sweeter too.

Maternity photos don’t have to be complicated or overly posed. Sometimes it’s simply about slowing down for a moment, soaking in this season together and creating something beautiful to remember it by.

Because one day, that little bump will be the baby in your arms. And sometimes the weather forcing you to come up with Plan B leads you somewhere even better than Plan A.
