Marrox Photographic Safaris

Marrox Photographic Safaris Accompanied photographic safaris to the Kruger National Park. Tour groups are limited to 6 guests.

These tours are not for profit; I organize them to try and pass on my love for wildlife and wildlife photography to others. I have spent a lot of time in the Kruger National Park since the late 1970s. After moving to NZ in the late 1980s those visits took a bit of a break, and in wasn’t before the mid-1990s that I was able to return to the Park. From 2010 I found myself able to travel more and was

able to continue my passion for the Park visiting for a few weeks each year. Since retiring in 2017 I have been able to indulge my passion of wildlife photography. Since 2018, I have spent over 425 days in the Park, including one eight-month stay. On an average I spend around two months each year in the Park (with the exception of the two Covid years when travel was restricted). Having spent so much time in the Park I have an extensive knowledge of the Park, its roading network, dams, “hot spots”, and its animals and bird. I have spent hundreds of hours observing animals am therefore well versed in their behaviours. I have been an active member of the Marlborough Camera Club since moving to Blenheim in 2022, and many of my African wildlife photos have been awarded honours in their monthly competitions. I was awarded my LPSNZ honours in 2023 with half of my entry portfolio being photos taken in the Kruger Park. I am also a Ranger with the SA National Parks Honorary Ranger organization and spend many hours moderating some of the SA National Parks pages. I am running these photographic tours to share my passion for African wildlife, and wildlife photography in particular and would love you to join me.

So there I was videoing these two young elephant sparring, when this scene unfolded right next to the vehicle...

Another great morning in Kruger.
This leopard had just crossed the road and was heading into the bush.
Visit again to watch as she emerged from the long grass and crossed the road.

A fantastic sighting this morning. We found the carcass of a giraffe that had probably slipped over and died last evening. A few hyena were busy scavenging.
