When I say I do Bo***ir photography, I often get strange or ‘uncomfortable’ looks, born I think from a misconception of what bo***ir photography really is.
Wikipedia describes it like this: Bo***ir photography is a photographic style featuring intimate, sensual, romantic, and sometimes erotic images of its subjects in a photographic studio, bedroom or private dressing room environment, primarily intended for the private enjoyment of the subjects and their romantic partners.
Let’s debunk some myths about it ...
One of the most common myths about bo***ir photography is that it’s p**n, and this is simply not true! Rather, it is about empowering women to love themselves and their bodies.
You don’t have to go n**e or even wear lingerie during your shoot. I suggest my clients start with a favourite item in their closet, whether that be a favourite pair of jeans or a sexy dress. It’s all about you being comfortable in the skin you’re in.
You do not need the perfect body for a bo***ir session – every body is perfect! It’s all about loving your one-of-a-kind self. Whether you’re curvy, petite or anywhere in between, you deserve beautiful photographs of yourself!
It doesn’t have to be for someone else. While a set of bo***ir images can be an exciting gift for a partner, I believe women should do a bo***ir session primarily for themselves.
Bo***ir photography is all about loving who you are, and each photo is about celebrating you and telling your unique story. If you want to share that celebration with someone, great!
You don’t have to know how to pose. I will guide you every step of the way and will never ask you to do something that makes you uncomfortable.
