Ryan Watkinson Photography Every shot is a story.

Just a guy with a camera, chasing light from sunrise to sunset — from rugged coastlines to alpine peaks, from the stillness of wildlife to the hidden worlds of macro, and right into the raw adrenaline of motorsport.

After an epic road trip with Gary Ashton & Dave Morrison we ended our trip with a spot Dave had been wanting to photography. Thankfully the weather and the light gods played their part and we finished off the day with an awesome sunset.

Had an absolutely incredible time getting up close with the magnificent Kārearea (New Zealand Falcon) at Wingspan Birds of Prey Trust yesterday as part of a road trip with Gary Ashton Dave Morrison.

These birds are not only stunning but so incredibly fast and agile. Watching them in action is truly a privilege. Huge shoutout to the amazing conservation work the team at Wingspan is doing for our native birds of prey.

Which shot is your favorite? Let me know below!

I've always admired astro photography but never really given it a proper go. Last night was my first serious attempt, and standing under a sky like this, it's easy to see why people become obsessed with it.

Plenty to learn and plenty of room for improvement, but for my first real I'm pretty stoked with how this image turned out.

What amazes me most is that Auckland was sitting just off to the right of the frame. Despite being so close to New Zealand's largest city, the night sky still put on an incredible show, with the Milky Way stretching overhead.

Sleep wasn't happening, so at some ridiculous hour this morning I found myself scrambling out of bed and racing to the beach with the camera in hand. No real plan, no coffee, just a hope that the sky would do something interesting.

A few photos from today's outing to Kingfisher Cove. If you look closely in the one photo near the bottom of the branch, you will see the crab that the Kingfisher dropped and decided to dive for. Can't let lunch escape...
