‼️ I MADE A MISTAKE!

It’s true though….
If I’m not with you, I’m with some poor soul 🥹 who’s agreed to humour my spontaneous creative urges or, I’m with myself trying to recreate or develop new skills.

Mistakes are how we grow and these aren’t quite what I was after but here’s some highlights from a funny, weird, frustrating and wonderful time spent with my dear friend and fellow photographer, Hallie from HALLÉ and Hallie Campbell | Birth Photography Educator NZ ❤️

🤍 You have all let me into some of the most intimate moments of your pregnancies…so here’s mine. 🤍

When I found out I was pregnant with Levi, I made myself a promise: I was going to enjoy every single second of it. And I did. Every kick, every curve, every quiet moment of just knowing there was a whole person growing inside me.

Maternity photography was only just becoming a thing back then, so I took my own. It was a photo of one of you that reminded me to go find them. I had almost forgotten what it felt like to have him with me like that.

I remember my husband feeling him kick for the first time - the gasp, the wide eyes, and then: “Sh*t. There really IS a baby in there. It just doesn’t feel real until you feel it.” 😂 Honestly, same.

We also got a puppy 🐾 at the same time. DO NOT DO IT, PEOPLE. Although… the sweetest moments were our dog curled up on my belly while Levi was kicking. I’ll never forget that.

And then he arrived. And I felt a strange loneliness after he was born that I didn’t expect. Does anyone else know that feeling? The one nobody really talks about? 🥺

Not everyone gets a pregnancy they love. I know that. Which is why I’m so deeply grateful for mine - and so honoured to be a small part of yours. ❤️

💛 “Straight out of a Fashion Magazine”

There’s a particular kind of joy in handing over a gallery and watching a client’s reaction. This one arrived in my inbox this week:

“Thank you so much for the photos! We absolutely love them. They honestly look like they’re straight out of a fashion magazine! You’re so talented, and we’re so lucky to have you to capture these special memories.”

This is exactly why I do what I do. Not just to hand over beautiful images, but to create a session that feels effortless - where you can just be present with the people (and the dog 🐾) you love, and let the rest happen naturally.

Every single baby who has come through my studio this year arrived with a name that was chosen with so much love, thought, and probably at least one late-night Google spiral. Some classic, some unexpected, some that made me smile the moment I heard them.
