From the relaxed look on Grace's face it seems that this is an effortless pose, but those of us in the know know that it's hours of dedication, training and a super high core strength that allows an aerialist to pull it off. And she rocks it.
This is a shoot from the (thank you so much for the space) pre-August lockdown.
Grace walked in early, was prepared and had a great idea of what she wanted (makes my job sooo much easier 🤣).

Drive north with mate and local artist I stood on the beach whilst Greg jumped straight in and caught every wave thrown his way. It was great to watch and awesome to photograph.
I used a Cobra monopod that I purchased from .nz a few years ago. Definitely worth every penny.

Being taking some landscape images over the last 12 months. This was from an impromptu mini road trip one morning. I like the emptiness of the image. Shot on a Canon 5d mk2, tripod, and a release. Was about an hour north of Auckland. I can't for the life of me tell you any of the settings, but it was probably something along the lines of;

One of the images from the local photography competition. There was a local band playing outside the library. I think that images like this work in mono tones (no pun intended) as colour sometimes distracts us from the story told in the frame. We can like an image simply because we like or enjoy the vibrant colours, without actually looking at the content. All shot handheld with ambient light, a Canon 1dx and a 24-70 2.8L lens.

A simple 2 light set up using Godox AD600 lights and 6x9 soft boxes bring life to this image with the stunning . We worked together on this a few years ago, during lockdown I started reworking some images to see how my editing style changes (and hopefully matures) over time. I really like the hardness and straight lines of the leather couch with the fluid curve of Ellie's pose.
I cannot remember the settings (and forgot to look them up) but it was shot with a Canon 5d mk2 on a tripod and the costume is from .scissors

So I haven't posted for quite a while but when I was approached and asked to shoot a cosplay character I thought it was time to dust off the camera. This is , an anime character that referees gambling games.
