A huge shout out to the around 450 visitors who called in over the two weekends of Artists Open Studios, it was such an amazing event this year, and I appreciate every one of you.

It was truly amazing to have all the support from friends, family, workmates, people in the community and visitors from afar.

Talking to people, getting positive vibes, and seeing people enjoy what you do is such a buzz and I think we will be buzzing for awhile after that. Cheers to you all and thanks for joining us.

What a wicked last weekend it was, our first of two weekends for Artists Open Studios Whanganui

I've been exhibiting alongside Keeley Eastwood and Lucile Barjot as our new collective studio, The Art Triangle NZ, for Artists Open Studios Whanganui 2026.

Thank you so much to every single one of the 234 people who came along to see us during our first open studios weekend.

So many friends, family and familiar faces from the community, and it really meant a lot to feel that kind of support around us. You came to browse, chat, and buy, and it created such a warm, uplifting atmosphere after all the time and care we’ve put into preparing for this beautiful (and slightly chaotic!) event.

A special thank you as well to those who chose to buy pieces made by our kids, it truly meant a lot. Seeing their work appreciated has made this experience even more special for them, and something they’ll remember.

A highlight for me was the women who remembered my Angel on the Awa image of a spoonbill in flight from at least 8 years ago, and is interested in purchasing a framed print.

We’re now getting ready to do it all over again, and we’re looking forward to seeing what this weekend brings.

If you haven’t had a chance to visit yet, we’d love to see you, it’s the final weekend of AOS 2026.

We are 'The Art Triangle'
'Three artists from three countries bringing you three art forms and more'
Studio no. 39 in AOS Trail Guide and on web.
Bombay Street, Aramoho (spot the yellow flag)

We're among a host of about eight other participating 'Aramoho' artist studios and our glorious Awa will guide you our way from Whanganui CBD... 🌈

Amazing first day of Artists Open Studios. Thanks to everyone who visited yesterday. Hope we see you today.

Hey!

I'm now just 1.5 weeks away from exhibiting alongside Lucile Barjot Creative and Keeley Eastwood Artist / Printmaker as The Art Triangle NZ, our new collective studio launching for Artists Open Studios Whanganui (AOS) 2026!

As promised, I'm continuing to share with you the posts from our AOS 'social media takeover week' from last month - this is where we got to share about who we are, what we do and what we're planning for our open weekends on 14-15 and 21-22 March.

This is the content from our 'Day Five' post in which we talk about our studio’s lovely 'setting and surrounds' − and a few of the ‘little extras’ we have planned to entice you out to us! 😉

Our gallery space is tucked in our potter Lucile’s sprawling green garden set behind her home in pretty Bombay Street, Aramoho.

The garden has views over to the rolling hills of rural Brunswick and this is fitting, since Keeley and Brad's AOS journey began when they exhibited for the first time in the 2018 event from their then rural Brunswick home as part of ‘Brunswick Art Collective.’

The views back to Brunswick are a nostalgic acknowledgment of Keeley and Brad’s AOS journey’s beginning − and their gratitude to the many people who made the effort to drive out and support them.

Our studio garden has some lovely trees and shady spots where you can rest, enjoy some of our refreshing iced water and take a break before getting back on the art trail.

Our kids are excited to be having their first ever mini art stall − from which they’ll display and sell a few of their own creations! 🥰

We’ll also have a little surprise ‘art experiment lucky dip’ – and the first two visitors each open studio weekend can grab a freebie! 🤩

And we’ll have Eftpos with prices for all budgets.

After visiting our and other Aramoho artists' studios you may wish to continue up-river and check out the lovely Papaiti walk and cycleway leading to the Upokongaro Cycle Bridge.

This is all part of the epic 'Mountains to Sea - Ngā Ara Tūhono’ trail! 😮

As some of you may already know, I’m taking part in Artists Open Studios Whanganui 2026 (14–22 March) with Keeley Eastwood and Lucile Barjot. A few weeks ago, we had the chance to take over the AOS social media for a week and share a bit about what we do.

Here’s our Day 5 post, where we share our studio space and surroundings.

Hello again from the three of us at The Art Triangle NZ− our new collective studio launching for ‘Artists Open Studios Whanganui’ (AOS) 2026 and Studio. No 39 in the AOS Trail Guide!

Today we’ll tell you a bit about our studio’s 'setting and surrounds' − and a few of the ‘little extras’ we have in store for our open studio weekends in March!

Our gallery space is tucked in our potter Lucile’s sprawling green garden set behind her home in pretty Bombay Street, Aramoho.

Stay tuned for our next instalment − where we’ll share about our processes, our inspirations and some of how we’re getting ready for AOS 2026!

As you already know, I’m taking part in Artists Open Studios Whanganui 2026 (14–22 March) with Keeley Eastwood and Lucile Barjot. A few weeks ago, we had the chance to take over the AOS social media for a week and share a bit about what we do.

Here’s our Day 4 post, where we introduce Lucile and her work.

Meet Lucile Barjot at ‘The Art Triangle’ - Studio No. 39 in the AOS Event Guide:

Lucile is a French-born creative living in Whanganui where she has reconnected with her love of art and making things by hand through pottery.

Lucile’s pottery journey began when she was travelling with family in China and her artist friend Keeley Eastwood emailed asking her to join her in a beginner wheel class.

Lucile fell in love with pottery instantly and soon joined Whanganui Potters' Studio to keep practising.

She has been making pottery for almost two years now and her throwing skills have come a long way.

Working with clay has been a grounding and therapeutic way to slow down and reconnect with herself after dedicating seven years to look after her growing family.

Lucile especially enjoys making functional pieces like tumblers, mugs and bowls.

She hopes her pieces invite a brief moment of peace, giving their users a small mindful pause in their day.

Her work reflects that search for peace: simple, honest forms shaped by curiosity, repetition, and the joy of making something with her hands.

Lucile is excited to be entering the world of Artists Open Studios Whanganui (AOS) for the first time.

She’s joining forces with her friends, Keeley Eastwood (artist / printmaker / potter) and Brad Mosen (photography) and they’re taking part under their new collective studio name of ‘The Art Triangle.’

Stay tuned for our next ‘social media takeover’ instalment, where we’ll share about our studio’s setting, surrounds and a few little ‘extras’ we have in store for our open studio weekends coming up in March.

Also check out our ‘key info’ shared here as a pic so you have all the info you need to find out more about Lucile and The Art Triangle NZ, follow our journey and come see us during AOS 2026!

We were lucky enough to highjack Artists Open Studios Whanganui (AOS) Facebook and Instagram pages for a 'Social Media Takeover' week a few weeks ago...

We were given the chance to 'take over' the AOS social media pages for a week to share about who we are, what we do and what we're offering for our upcoming open studio weekends on 1
4-15 and 21-22 March. We'd LOVE you to come see us! 🌈

We're a Kiwi lad, a Yorkshire lass (Keeley Eastwood Artist / Printmaker and a French gal (Lucile Barjot Creative ) working in three main art forms - pottery, printmaking, photography - with plenty more creative tangents thrown in.

Here's our 'Day Three' post in case you missed it. All about me.

Meet Brad Mosen at ‘The Art Triangle’ - Studio No. 39 in the AOS Event Guide:

Brad was born and raised in Whanganui and in 2011 returned to his hometown after spending several years living and working in the UK and travelling around Europe.

From an early age and following in his maternal grandfather’s footsteps he has had a love of photography.

His inspirations include nature and the natural landscape and he strives to capture their beauty and essence through his lens.
He first debuted on to the AOS scene in 2018 alongside his artist partner Keeley Eastwood and their group of creative friends and family, going by the name of ‘Brunswick Art Collective.’

The group exhibited from Brad and Keeley’s then rural Brunswick cottage and garden in an old Skyline garage they, family and friends had converted into an art gallery / studio space.
With Brad and Keeley’s child born just a few days after the 2018 event (the AOS baby!) they went on to exhibit again in the 2019 event and were set to take part in 2020.

However this event was cancelled due to global pandemic and later that year Brad and Keeley relocated into town.

Fast forward six years and they’re excited to be re-entering the world of AOS for the 2026 event!

The pair will be joining forces for the first time with their friend and fellow creative Lucile Barjot − a potter who is new on the AOS scene.

They’ll be exhibiting under their new collective studio name of ‘The Art Triangle’ from Lucile’s Aramoho gallery space.

This is set in a sprawling green garden with appropriate nostalgic views to the Brunswick hills in the direction of where Brad and Keeley’s AOS journey began.

Following up on from the posts from our The Art Triangle NZ Artists Open Studios Whanganui (AOS) 'Social Media Takeover' week from a couple of weeks ago!

In these we share a little about us the artists, 'The Art Triangle' - our new collective studio launching for our AOS 2026 open studio weekends coming up in March...

This is our 'Day Two' post and it's about Keeley Eastwood Artist / Printmaker:

Meet 'Keeley Eastwood' at ‘The Art Triangle’ - Studio No. 39 in the AOS Event Guide:

Keeley is perhaps best known locally for her characterful, quirky and endearing animal printmaking artworks, namely ‘Kunes On A Cloudy’ and ‘Quirky Lamoid.’

She’s a Yorkshire-born artist inspired by nature, animals, emotions and more.

As well as a background in writing and communications, she has always had a keen interest in the arts and an intrinsic need for creative expression.

While her main focus is printmaking and ceramics she enjoys exploring many other art forms, including mixed media and cyanotype.

Initially relocating from the UK to Christchurch, NZ in 2009 she was drawn to Whanganui in 2011 as a visitor to that year’s AOS event.

The visit took place while she and Whanganui-born partner Brad were in-limbo from the catastrophic Canterbury earthquakes.

Keeley found this post-quake AOS visit a real tonic and was delighted by the diverse talent, vibrancy and sheer scale of Whanganui’s then ‘little-known-about’ art scene.

This persuaded her to stay in town a little longer − and that ‘little longer’ has since become 15 years of Keeley calling Whanganui home.

Keeley believes that art and craft made by human hands, hearts and minds plays a huge role in fostering hope, connection and healing.

This remains a key driver for her art, writing and wider creative journey.

You may remember her as a ‘Brunswick Art Collective’ member − Keeley, Brad and their group of creative friends and family exhibited in the 2018 and 2019 AOS events from their then rural Brunswick cottage and garden.

Fast forward six years and she and Brad are excited to be re-entering the world of AOS for the 2026 event.

For the first time they’ll be joining forces with their friend and fellow creative Lucile Barjot and exhibiting from her Aramoho gallery space as their new collective studio, The Art Triangle NZ

I can't believe we only have ONE MONTH till Artists Open Studios Whanganui starts.

I'm busy selecting prints, ordering cards and getting things ready.

Keeley Eastwood Artist / Printmaker, Lucile Barjot Creative and I are also busy collaborating on our shared gallery space ready to set up and launch our new The Art Triangle NZ collective for AOS 2026.

A couple of weeks ago we were given the chance to 'take over' the AOS social media pages for a week to share a bit about us as artists - and what we're offering for our open studio weekends on 14-15 and 21-22 March.

I wanted to share that here with my own supporters, and I hope to see you at the event next month.
