Pradeep Raj Onta: A Trailblazing Photojournalist and Media Visionary

Kathmandu, Nepal – In the field of photojournalism, Pradeep Raj Onta has established himself as a distinguished professional, capturing historic moments and shaping Nepal’s media landscape. With over 15 years of experience, he has received numerous accolades, held key leadership positions, and contributed significantly to journalism, training, and event management. Onta’s career in photojournalism has been marked by notable achievements. He has served as a senior photojournalist at the National News Agency (RSS) since 2012, documenting some of Nepal’s most important events. His dedication to the profession has earned him several prestigious awards, including:
• Best Photojournalist Award (2023) – Presented by Rt. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda at the Reporter’s Club Nepal.
• Best Photojournalist of the Year (2016) – Awarded by Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
• Best Photographer of the Year (2016 BS) – Certified by the National News Agency (RSS).
• Final Jury for Sainik Photo Competition (2021) and Jury Member for Miss Nepal 2018 (Miss Photogenic Category). His ability to capture compelling visuals has made him a sought-after figure in the field, earning him recognition for his contributions to media and photography. Beyond photography, Onta has been actively involved in media leadership. Since 2021, he has served as President of the National Forum of Photojournalists (NFPJ) Nepal, where he has worked to promote and support photographers across the country. His commitment to nurturing the next generation of photojournalists is evident through his extensive training initiatives:
• Conducted photojournalism training in Karnali and Madhesh provinces (2020), organized by RSS.
• Served as a special trainer at Nepal Press Union Sunsari (2022) and Nepal Photo Patrakar Sangha (2019, 2021).
• Led a Virtual Photography Workshop (2022) under NFPJ Nepal. His dedication to education extends to his role as a photography trainer at Swostishree Gurukul, Swayambhu, and as an official photographer at South Western State College since 2018. Diverse Professional Roles

Onta’s expertise goes beyond journalism. From January 2023 to January 2024, he served in the Personal Secretariat of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, further showcasing his influence in Nepal’s media and political circles. Additionally, he is the official photographer for Global IME Bank Nepal (since 2020) and the CEO of Season Media Pvt. Ltd, a company specializing in event management and fashion photography. His media company organizes five major events annually, supporting Nepal’s entertainment and fashion industries. Academic Pursuits and Future Goals

Onta is currently pursuing a Master’s in Mass Communication at Shepherd College (affiliated with Purbanchal University), further enhancing his expertise in media studies. नमुना कलेजको २१औँ ग्र्याजुएसन फेसन शो ‘अनन्तरूपवितानम्’ सम्पन्न

काठमाडौं, २४ असोज । नमुना कलेज अफ फेसन टेक्नोलोजी (एनसीएफटी) को २१औँ ग्र्याजुएसन फेसन शो ‘जर्नी अफ फेसन XXI : अनन्तरूपवितानम्’ सम्पन्न भएको छ। शोमा कलेजका २१औँ ब्याचका ५४ जना स्नातक फेसन डिजाइनरले तयार पारेका सिर्जनात्मक पहिरन प्रस्तुत गरिएको थियो।

‘कस्मिक थ्रेड्स अफ हेरिटेजः नेपाल बियोन्ड टाइम एन्ड युनिभर्स’ मूल विषयवस्तुमा आधारित शोमा नेपाली कला, संस्कृति, परम्परा र सम्पदालाई आधुनिक फेसन डिजाइनसँग जोडेर प्रस्तुत गरिएको थियो। मोडलहरूले विभिन्न शैलीका आकर्षक पहिरन र नवीन डिजाइन र्‍याम्पमा प्रदर्शन गरेका थिए।

सन् २००५ देखि आयोजना हुँदै आएको ‘जर्नी अफ फेसन’ फेसन डिजाइन अध्ययनको अन्तिम सत्रअन्तर्गतको शैक्षिक प्रस्तुति हो। यसले विद्यार्थीको सिर्जनात्मक क्षमता, व्यावसायिक दक्षता र डिजाइनसम्बन्धी ज्ञान प्रदर्शन गर्ने अवसर प्रदान गर्दै आएको छ।

शोमा विद्यार्थीले पहिरन डिजाइन तथा निर्माण गर्नुका साथै कार्यक्रमको योजना, व्यवस्थापन, स्रोत सङ्कलन र सञ्चालनमा समेत सहभागिता जनाएका थिए। उनीहरूका सिर्जनाको मूल्याङ्कन विज्ञ निर्णायक मण्डलले गरेको थियो। उक्त मूल्याङ्कनलाई पूर्वाञ्चल विश्वविद्यालयको अन्तिम सत्रको फेसन शो विषयको परीक्षाफलमा समेत समावेश गरिने कलेजले जनाएको छ।

‘अनन्तरूपवितानम्’ अवधारणाले नेपाली सम्पदालाई समय र ब्रह्माण्डको सीमाभन्दा परसम्म फैलिने सिर्जनात्मक सम्भावनाका रूपमा प्रस्तुत गरेको छ। परम्परागत हस्तकला, मौलिक सांस्कृतिक प्रतीक र ऐतिहासिक पहिचानलाई आधुनिक फेसनसँग संयोजन गर्दै नेपाली फेसनको विविधता र नवीनतालाई उजागर गर्ने उद्देश्य शोले राखेको थियो।

Rescue and Relief Operations Intensify in Trishuli After Floods

Bhadra 13, 2083, Nuwakot, Trishuli.
A devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River has caused extensive damage in Trishuli Bazaar, Nuwakot. Houses and other structures have been damaged, while parts of the market area have been reduced to a riverbed.

Nepal Army and Nepal Police personnel, along with rescue teams, are continuing search and rescue operations in the affected areas despite the risks. Helicopters are also being used to deploy rescue personnel and transport relief supplies and other essential materials to the affected areas.
