Minnath on his 28 feet tall chariot Minnath, on the first day of Rato Macchendranath comes to Natole, the starting point of the Patan City, to receive the Rato Machhendranath, both the chariots commenced the tour together.

According to the legend, when this god of Rain, the Rato Macchendranath aka Bunga Dya was brought to Patan by Licchavi King Narendra Dev and his Priest Bandhu Datta to rid his country from 12-year drought, Minnath welcomed the red-faced god to his capital and led him the way. Many believe that Minnath's presence during the festival is the reenactment of the event.

Hindus believe that dogs help departed souls reach heaven’s gates safely. That is why every year Nepal dedicates one day solely to honoring dogs for their loyalty, service, and companionship.

It’s called Kukur Tihar or ‘day of the dogs’ and it’s held on the second day of the five-day Nepalese Hindu festival Tihar. People offer flower garlands to every single dog (even the stray ones) as a sign of respect. Dogs are also blessed with a red mark on their forehead and are treated with the best food.

Mobile Photography Nepal family wish you all Happy Tihar.

On the first day of Tihar, Kaag tihar, Crows and ravens are worshiped by offering them sweets and dishes, which are placed on the roofs of houses. The cawing of crows and ravens symbolizes sadness and grief in Hinduism, so devotees offer crows and ravens food to avert grief and death in their homes.⠀

Mobile Photography Nepal family wish you all Happy Tihar.
