1640 kilometers left of the hike. I’m now in Sweden (1 meter into Sweden) as I’m following the border for a while. Terrain is finally becoming more open and alpine without having to walk up and down a thousand meters of elevation every single day.

Will follow this mountain ridge most of my way to the north cape from here, apart from when I’m diverting off towards some stores to restock food.

The Trøndelag county started off with dreadful rain, and cold weather. I’ve been wet ever since passing Dovre, on the 18th of May. But finally seeing some sun this week.

Tomorrow I’ve been walking pretty much non stop for 8 weeks straight. And I’ve had spring weather the entire time since I’m following the season northwards. But the following weeks that’s bound to shift! (fingers crossed)

Happy Constitution Day, Norway. Randomly ended up being at the old kings road, crossing Dovrefjell. A region where most folk lore, art and music from Norway back hundreds of years ago are inspired by.

Week 5 of walking the length of Norway. Haven’t had a rest day in over three weeks. Average steps a day on my phone is over 40k. Need to order a new pair of shoes soon. Walked close to a marathon the other day with a thousand meters of elevation gain.

What a weird experience this hike is, and even more weird that it feels like a normal day to day routine all ready!

Week 4 of walking the full length of Norway is ending now, and I’ve made it into yet another county.

I’m one 100% certain I am the first one walking over this mountain pass without skis this season. Given that I walked up the pass, and woke up to the snow plow eating through the last bit of winter. Made the last stretch over the mountain a little easier the following day!

Added up more than 12000m of elevation gain since the start of the hike. And now that I’m entering into the highlands, there will definitely be more.

First two weeks of hiking was mostly rain and snow. The third week has been mostly like this.

Hiking from the southern tip of Norway to the north cape. About 2700 km, plus all detours. Arriving some time this autumn. Bon voyage!

First month preparing for hiking the full length of Norway has been pretty much the same ordeal every day. Apart from a few rest days.

The closer I get to departure day in April, the more milage will be done. And hopefully the winter lets go so I’m not fighting -10c and snow too much the following months leading up to April.

Started training for a 2700km hike through Norway one month ago. And will be ready to leave as soon as spring arrives in April.

Somewhere between 100-200 days on my feet is probably better than just waiting for the Series to be sorted.
