This Picture is Worth a Thousand Words.

What happens to our houses when we are gone? Do we really need so many things and care so much about this life?

I photographed this house in 2014 on Smalgangen in Stavanger. The owner said it was one of the oldest houses in Stavanger. He planned to rebuild it exactly as it was – that's why every single board was marked with a number.
I planned to take a picture after the rebuild, but that never happened. A new building was built in its place, and the old one exists only in my photograph...

If anyone knows the owner, please let me know. I would be happy to give him this picture as a keepsake and a piece of heritage.

Do you sometimes feel like the whole mountain is falling on your head?
Like you need a massive change just to protect your peace?
The only one who holds the recipe is you.

Looking back at this photo from 2024, I can still see every single emotion I was wrestling with.
I'm sharing the solution I found back then, which proved to me that I can handle absolutely anything life throws my way:
✅ Bringing my camper van dream to life, pouring a whole lot of sweat and tears into the build over at
✅ Surviving a Norway-to-Spain road trip with the kids and a cat:
✅ 7,500+ km as the solo driver,
✅ Riding the handbrake through the Sierra Nevada mountains,
✅ Juggling the insane balancing act of being trip manager, mom, driver, and photographer.
✅ Making life-changing decisions after coming back home.

Taking portraits with a large format camera is always something special, both for me and the people in front of the lens. You don't just snap hundreds of photos. You get exactly one frame. THE SHOT. It takes a knowledge, ton of prep work beforehand and a whole chemical process in the darkroom later.

Shooting friends is always a fun challenge, especially when they’re experienced photographers and my own mentors!
But when all that complex analog process finally reveals a beautiful, genuine moment—that’s pure magic.

It’s a great reminder that photography isn't just about pressing a button. The real magic comes from the human, not the gear.
