I am not a real estate photographer. But when we suddenly bought a new house and had to put our own apartment on the market, I decided to take the pictures myself.
Photographing your own home is a strange experience. It’s a process of saying goodbye to a place I love and hold so many fond memories from, while simultaneously trying to make it look its absolute best for the next owners.
Real estate photography is inherently different from architectural and interior photography. It’s a high-volume, fast-paced industry where the goal is often to show everything in every frame, which can make capturing the actual feeling and story of a space a challenge.
I have immense respect for the good real estate photographers out there who manage to strike that balance—capturing inspiring, soulful shots while maintaining the speed this line of work requires.
I wanted to capture the light, the atmosphere, the flow between the open spaces, and the playground in the garden that made this place a home for us.
The full series is now live, and the link to the official listing is in my bio. I hope the next owners will love this space just as much as we have!
