Some of my favorite spring moments so far in 2026 🌿💚

Spring is an incredible time to be a wildlife photographer. I’ve spent countless hours out in the field, and this season has been especially meaningful as I’ve focused entirely on my own projects, mostly exploring on my own.

Finding wildlife can be challenging when you’re just starting out, but time and persistence make all the difference. This spring, I’ve invested more time than ever before, and it’s been incredibly rewarding. Nature is full of treasures if you’re willing to explore, stay patient, and keep looking.

White-Throated Dipper with a beak full of snacks, ready for drop off at the nest 🌿🤍

Right now the local dippers are very busy feeding their chicks! I’ve been spending a lot of time documenting their behaviour lately. It’s interesting to see how efficient they are at gathering food. It usually takes about 5-10 minutes before they return with food, gathered from about 300 meters away from the nest. Seems they have a favorite spot where they find a lot of small fish, worms and other aquatic insects.

The chicks will leave the nest in a couple of weeks where they will continue to be fed by their parents for a while.

I’ve been spending a lot of time with a local beaver family lately, and spring is such a wonderful season for it. The evenings grow longer and longer, giving me better opportunities to photograph these incredible animals ✨

It doesn’t work out every time, but if you position yourself carefully according to the wind direction and stay low to the ground, you might catch a glimpse of them while there’s still enough light to beautifully colour the surface of the river 💧

I’m currently working on a video where I’ll show you how I photograph beavers, so stay tuned for that! 💚🌿
