Last week, I went on a little hunt for purple along the coastline. 💜🌊

I had one particular composition in mind: finding a patch of blooming heather that could become a strong foreground, while still leaving enough room for the rugged coastline and open sea to tell the rest of the story.

It turned into several days of exploring, climbing over rocks and searching for that little connection between land and sea.

Eventually, I found this patch growing perfectly between the cracks in the coastal rock. The heather pulls you into the frame, while the lines in the landscape slowly lead the eye out towards the islands and horizon.

Sometimes photography is less about finding a spectacular place, and more about finding one small piece of it that makes everything fall into place. 📸

There’s something beautiful about a flower after its moment has passed.

The colour is gone. The petals have fallen. What remains is shape, texture and all these tiny details that were hiding underneath.

Photographing it in monochrome changed the way I looked at it completely. It stopped feeling like a withered flower and became something almost sculptural.

Nature doesn’t really stop creating when something fades. It simply changes the artwork. 🖤🌿

I’ve always been drawn to flowers long after their moment of perfection has passed.
When the colour fades, the petals fall and most people would simply walk past, something else begins to appear. Tiny textures, fragile shapes and details that were almost hidden when the flower was in full bloom.
That’s what caught my attention with this one.
I went in close, stripped away the colour and let the background disappear into darkness. Suddenly it stopped feeling like a photograph of a withered flower. It became something quieter, almost sculptural.
There’s something I love about finding beauty at this stage of nature’s cycle. Not trying to make decay look beautiful, but simply noticing that it already is.
Sometimes nature saves its most interesting details for the very end.

My latest macro adventure took an unexpected turn… 🌿🖤

I went out with the intention of simply getting closer and exploring the tiny details of late-summer nature. But somewhere along the way, macro photography started slipping into something else entirely.

This little curling tendril caught my eye. Stripped of colour, surrounded by darkness and reduced to shape, texture and light, it almost stopped feeling like a plant at all. More like a tiny piece of sculpture hidden in plain sight.

So instead of fighting it, I followed the idea.

I underexposed, worked in monochrome, let the background disappear into black and started treating these small subjects less like traditional macro photography and more like fine art.

And that unexpected detour became my latest photography adventure. 📷

Sometimes the world becomes so soft that it feels less like a place and more like a memory.
I wasn't chasing perfect sharpness today. I was chasing a feeling. A whisper of summer wrapped in pastel light, where every petal seems to float between reality and a dream.
Photography doesn't always have to document what we see. Sometimes it can reveal what we feel. And today, this flower felt like it belonged in a fairytale. 🌸✨
Captured with the beautiful imperfections of the vintage Helios 44M. Because not every story needs crisp edges to leave a lasting impression.

There’s something about photographing flowers this way that feels almost like painting with light. 🌿✨
No need for perfect sharpness. No need to capture every tiny detail. Sometimes I just want the colours to melt together, the light to glow, and the flowers to feel more like a memory than a photograph.
Soft, imperfect, and a little dreamlike… exactly how summer feels to me. 🤍🌼

There’s something magical about letting go of perfect sharpness. 🌸✨

Photographed with the Helios 44-M, this tiny flower slowly dissolved into a world of soft pinks, glowing light and delicate details.

At this distance, it almost stops feeling like a photograph of a flower and becomes something more abstract, somewhere between a dream and a painting.

That’s what I love about using vintage lenses. They don’t always give you perfection in the modern sense, but they give you character, atmosphere and beautiful imperfections.
Sometimes I’d rather create a feeling than capture every detail.
