Some mushrooms have a little more character than others. 🍄✨

This beautiful little mushroom caught my eye with its delicate, furry texture and fascinating details.
I couldn’t resist getting in close and creating a focus-stacked image to bring those details to life.

Captured with my Laowa 100mm macro lens, and featured in tonight’s YouTube video, where you can see how I created this image, from finding the subject to the final shot.

🎥 New video tonight! Link in bio.

Interesting 😁

Sometimes the best way to make a small subject stand out is to let everything else disappear. 🌲🍄

I deliberately underexposed this scene and used a little light to pull the mushroom out of the darkness, leaving the distracting and boring elements behind.

A tiny mushroom, but suddenly it feels like its own little world.

A quiet little woodland portrait, built one focus point at a time. 🍄🌿

Captured with the Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2× Macro, focus stacked from 25 images to bring this tiny mushroom into focus while letting the surrounding forest melt into that soft, dreamy atmosphere.

Sometimes the smallest subjects make the biggest scenes.

Some mushrooms look like they belong in the forest... others look like they wandered in from another world 🍄✨

Found this strange little coral-like beauty hiding among the moss and woodland debris.
I went looking for unusual mushrooms, and this one definitely caught my eye.

Sometimes the forest doesn't need much to feel magical. Just the right subject, a low perspective, and a little patience. 🌲

Mushroom season is upon us 🍄🌲

On my last outing, I went searching for the weird, the unusual and the downright strange…
Instead, I found a few rather ordinary-looking mushrooms like this little Mycena.

But that's part of the fun of mushroom photography. Not every subject is going to be spectacular. Sometimes you just have to slow down, change your perspective, work with the light and make the best of what's in front of you.
And honestly… I think this little guy had more character than I first gave him credit for. 🌿

Would you have walked past it?

Lost in a little purple dream. 💜
A bumblebee, buried in heather, and a whole lot of Helios magic. 🐝🌿✨

Somewhere between a photograph and a daydream. 🌿💜

I wanted to push the Helios a little further here, letting the movement, imperfect focus and glowing light turn a patch of heather into something that feels almost unreal.
Not everything has to look sharp to tell a story.

Isolation isn’t usually my go-to with the Helios… but with the right light, backdrop and a wider composition, I think it starts to work. 🌿

The blueberries are almost glowing red, while the purple heather seems to dance through the background.

A fairly ordinary little scene, transformed by light and a bit of Helios magic.
And honestly… this one is growing on me. 🍂✨

Can you tell what’s hiding in this frame? 👀🌿

Shot with the Helios 44, leaning into its dreamy imperfections and letting the lens turn the scene into something a little more abstract.

Any guesses? 😉📷
