I own hundreds of fly patterns.

The trout and I have agreed to ignore most of them.

The DHE (Deer Hair Emerger) is my go-to dry fly and probably accounts for 80% of my dry fly fishing.

Created by Bob Wyatt—my fly fishing guru and living proof that simple ideas are often the best ones.

When in doubt, fish a DHE.

When not in doubt… fish a DHE.

Best stripping basket I’ve ever used. I’ve honestly never liked any of the others, but this one is so light and smooth you barely notice you’re wearing it.

The only downside? You can’t sit on it like we used to with those old, terrible baskets… which, to be fair, were only good for exactly that 😄

Pilot trip done ✔️
And what a weekend it turned out to be.

Really happy and grateful to have had our first guests here and to show a bit of our West Coast. The house, the surroundings and the fishing just a short walk away… it’s a pretty special setup.

Fishing was a bit up and down (as always), but overall just a really good experience all around.

Also… finally got myself a personal photographer. About time 😉

Grinding at the vise tonight.

Stocking the boxes for the sea trout premiere on the Swedish west coast — and making sure there’s plenty of sharp steel and dirty flies ready for the pilot trip April 9–12.

Cold water, nervous vaskebjørns and silver ghosts cruising the shallows.

Last week vs this week. Approximately 30–40 degrees Celsius in temperature difference. I think I like Thailand 🇹🇭 little bit more today than winter back home.
