If you think building a little wood shed in your garden is an achievement, look at these passionate Balestrand hikers putting together a hut at 1100moh at the top of Gulleplenipa on the way to Keipen.

We are all very thankful here to have the Vener av Balestrandfjella (friends of the Balestrand mountains) looking after our hiking paths here, let alone building structures like this everyone can rest and take shelter in.

Who saved Emma?❤️

A very special request reached us today. Can you help us find the kind girl who helped this family from Germany?

Here is the message we received

„I write to you on behalf of my parents, my older brother and his family. They made a trip to Norway 2 weeks ago and visited your beautiful village Balestrand. On the 17th of July our family dog Emma got into an accident and was severely injured. Since they were foreign, did not know the language and panicked they must have looked pretty depressed to anyone who saw them. Luckily a young girl was there in Balestrand and offered them her help. For my family it was like a miracle since they really did not know what to do and the dog was badly injured. The girl knew a vet in Vik and arranged a meeting.

Due to this kind girl, Emma got the help she needed and is doing well now.

As I said, my parents were very stressed and that’s why they did not thanked the girl as they would have wanted to. Besides that, they forgot to ask for her name, which is why I write to you.

The girl saved our Emma and also the whole trip to Norway and my parents now want to thank her.

As I wrote above the accident happened on the 17th of July in the afternoon next to a market store. The girl was according to my parents between 17-23 years old and has shoulder length brown hair. The girl was talking to my older brother Steffen because he was the only one who speaks English.
