Arctic Race of Norway Conference brings Northern Norway's business and political world into one room, every year.
Egga Utvikling and Innovasjon Norge put this year's together. Nordland fylkeskommune and backed it.
This year, they gave us the stage.
MYREZE started in 2014, in a closet in Bergen. No investors, and no plan B. That closet did eventually design openers for a Eurovision Song Contest final with 182M+ viewers, the FIFA World Cup broadcast for CCTV (~1B viewers), and won an Emmy with Valvee for the largest virtual TV broadcast ever made. Epic Games backed our next chapter directly.
That next chapter is Future Island. Based in Andenes, and built for one reason: to give young people who've struggled to find their place in normal working life an actual shot in the reactive field. A place to learn 3D design through real commercial work.
These young creators are building virtual broadcast sets for international networks, designing next generation live productionsfor Disney, and contributing to projects scene around the country, and the world.
Talent was never the problem up here — opportunity was. A kid from Andøya deserves the same shot as a kid from Oslo, or Berlin, or anywhere else.
That's the entire bet Future Island is built on.
By the end of it, the room was on its feet for almost a full minute.
Even Erna Solberg was crying.
Maybe that's the real win here. Maybe a room full of politicians will actually listening to what young people in the north have to say, for once.
We asked Erna to come see it for herself. And she said yes.
