This was a challenge… and yes, a few shots met the enthusiastically deleted.
But I’m chuffed as nuts to have caught these two damsel flies in actual flight.

Full 600mm, trying to track creatures that fly like caffeinated confetti…
Yet look at them, those colours in the sun, just vibing along Woodmill like tiny neon helicopters.

Behold the Council of Tiny Guardians.
Quartz, Onyx, Vyv, Mal and Jasper... gathered for their portrait like a squad of pocket‑sized spirits.

Some refused to pose (looking at you, Vyv).
Jasper insisted on remaining behind his enchanted perspex shield.

Yet still… those eyes glow like little lanterns in the dark.

One of the joys of photography is gearing up knowing what you’re looking to capture only to find something crops up that is completely unexpected. Early one morning whilst on a cruise to Norway the camera set up was all set to capture some landscapes as we neared the first port. Then I spotted this little fella flying above us. I tried my best to capture him in all his glory. Although these images are far from perfect, I am really pleased with what I managed to get.

After a couple weeks away I dusted off the macro lens and paid an overdue visit to ,
I got to shoot my first Chameleon too...
Not too sure he was so keen on having a camera pointed at him but just a little selection they have in store. Be sure to check them out...
