Looking at the weather reports for the week ahead I'm so looking forward to be working in the sun again. And that brings me to a point I've made many times in various ways but always will make again.
One of my favourite parts of my work is, believe it or not, convincing people they actually look great in front of my camera. Because everyone does.
There's the photograph added to this post that reminds me of that mission every time I see it. I took it when we were in Glastonbury quite some years ago and the light was perfect, the temperatures were hot (just like in the coming days) and we had the time and space to take some photographs.
We were on Paddington Farm and there was an empty field next to where we were all camping and I asked a few of the people that were with me if they wanted a couple of photographs. Nothing serious, just a bit of playing around.
And I remember that Leonie Alleman didn't really want to, but she indulged me anyway after a bit.
We just joked around, we played in the grass and in the sun for just a few moments and this is what came out of that. This capture of laughter and pure joy.
So let me say this again: Even if you think you're not up for it, letting that belief go and just have some fun can change everything. For a photograph, but also for your day in general.
And honestly, maybe I'm just typing this as a reminder to myself today, but who knows it might help you too!
