Perfect images have never been easier to create. But perfection alone cannot show us the whole person.

I’m becoming more interested in what a photograph can make visible: personality, emotion, energyβ€”and sometimes a change within us that we haven’t yet found the words to explain.

My photography has been moving slowly from achievement towards meaning. I want to create photographs that don’t only show how someone looked, but also hold something of how they felt: at ease, connected with themselves and proud of who they are becoming.

I’ve written a short reflection about why the most meaningful portrait is not necessarily the most perfect one.

More Than a Perfect Picture

When you look at a photograph of yourself, what do you hope to recognize?

The Japanese have a word for the sunlight that quietly finds its way through the leaves.

Komorebi.

A reminder that light doesn’t always arrive all at once.

Sometimes it reaches us in fragments.
Softly.
Patiently.

And somehow, that’s enough.

Something new is quietly taking shape.
A project about stories, voices, and the things that usually stay between the lines.
More soon. πŸ–€

The visible and the invisible.

Some portraits reveal a face. Others reveal a feeling.

We spend much of our lives searching for home.

A place.

A person.

A feeling.

Something that tells us we belong.

Sometimes home is not found.

It is created.

In a pair of arms.

A quiet presence.

A promise spoken without words.

For a child, home begins long before there is any understanding of the word itself.

It begins with being held.

With knowing, somehow, that when the world feels unfamiliar, there is a place to return to.

Perhaps that is what makes a home.

Not walls.

Not an address.

But the feeling that someone will carry you when you cannot carry yourself.

I came looking for plants.

I left thinking about people.

That’s the funny thing about curiosity.

It rarely takes you where you expected to go.

An unplanned turn.
An open door.
A stranger who simply said,
_β€œGo in.β€œ_

Inside the old mission house, silence had been filled with art.
The abandoned halls had become a stage.

I didn’t come to photograph this performance.

But maybe that’s exactly why I saw it.

Perhaps curiosity isn’t about finding something. Perhaps it’s about allowing something to find you.

Some places ask for your attention.

Others ask for your imagination.

An empty hallway.

A forgotten room.

A cross still hanging in silence.

Long after people leave, places continue telling stories.

Not through words.

But through what they leave behind.

The question is…

What do you hear?

See the energy. Feel the story.

14/06/2026

Every place carries a story.

Every person carries one too.

What fascinates me is what happens when the two meet.

Movement enters stillness.

Expression enters tradition.

And suddenly neither is quite the same as before.

Perhaps we are not one person, but many versions of ourselves.

Each waiting for the right place,
the right moment,
to appear.

See the energy. Feel the story.

Before a child is born, something else begins to take shape too.

We often speak about bringing a new life into the world.

Less often about how that process remakes the person doing the bringing.

Not better.

Not worse.

Not lost.

Just different.

A different perspective.

A different rhythm.

A different understanding of what matters.

And perhaps the most curious part is not the transformation itself.

But the return.

How do we re-emerge after becoming someone we have never been before?

See the energy. Feel the story.
