Its the last week of the academic year. I am super busy with 4 defences in Wageningen and also some other things. Who reads the Gelderlander or follows Gluren bij de buren, maybe some photos from me there. But Wednesday I had a little highlight. After already photographing Queen Maxima in 2019, I now also finally was invited to make some photos of Willem-Alexander King of the Netherlands, this time visiting NIOO.
So a big entourage and a lot experienced agency photographers, but this time I also was a little more experienced with that, so on the most important photo moment, I had my spot reserved and defended it succefully till the right moment. So quite happy with the result that was yesterday in the newspaper:

WAGENINGEN - Hoog bezoek voor het NIOO-KNAW in Wageningen. Woensdagmiddag kreeg het Nederlands Instituut voor Ecologie aan de Mansholtlaan koning Willem-Alexander op visite. De vorst kwam niet voor de thee met een koekje, maar om zich bij te laten praten over verschillende activiteiten van het NIOO.

So the first week Omnia. I was happy to photograph the second and the third defence in the new building.

So a big era ended last week. The aula in Wageningen closed its doors. I was there every week up to 4 times to photograph the PhD defences since 6 years. So also for me it was a little era that ended.
From next week the defences will take place in the new Omnia building on campus. I already had a look there on Monday. It’s of course not so spacious but it looks nice.
So next week I will have the first PhD photos from Omnia. Today I close with my favorite photos of the last few weeks:

Busy Black Friday: 3 defenses in the aula. 10 000 photos taken on one day. Photos sorted friday night. 850 retouched photos delivered on monday and albums ordered monday night: German efficiency! :-D

One more for the bucket list: My first PhD defence at the TU Delft :-D. Christian Zammit invited me recently and we made some pretty photos.

Just checked, so its still a few that I didnt went. U know anyone defending in Tilburg, Eindhoven, Twente or Maastricht, let me know.

Sooo wedding season is over and I am now completley busy with PhD defences again. Got some happy and pretty couples and some wonderful photos.

So my last defence for this season was finally without a mask. What a relieve with that heat! And it also looks much better. Defence season is finished now wedding season starts :-D

Really Happy: I got a message last week that the aula is open again for defences - Finally!!!
I didnt thought this would happened before autumn. And even better, I was allowed to join Sofie's big day on tuesday. Great week! Let's hope for some more normality!

Seems the lockdown will continue .
And seems if the virus will change again we will go to eternal lockdown :-D:
Well, I wanted to share that there are still PhD defences and it is still possible to make a limited number of photos.
If ur defending or you know someone that defends these days, just contact me to discuss the options. Everything changes all the time, so I am not delivering updates.
