Fantastic northern lights display seen from the Netherlands yesterday evening! ππ
Last night we had a chance to observe the northern lights (again) in the Netherlands. We are getting closer to the solar maximum of solar cycle 25 so the sun produces more solar flares, some with coronal mass ejections (clouds with magnetic particles). Earth directed flares are capable of intensifying the aurora activity like yesterday evening and push the aurora far south. For those who missed it, more chances to come in the next months as we are getting closer to the solar maximum!
After missing the first chance early on yesterday's evening we drove to a spot I had in mind earlier this year and suddenly around 8.30 p.m. this amazing aurora display became visible for the second time that evening! Running around like crazy to get different compositions so stay tuned for more pictures!
