Don’t let the slums fool ya… ❤️🇮🇳
These photos might be a little hard on the eye, but the photographs alone simply cannot tell the story. You need to be here. You need to walk these streets, meet the people, see the businesses, the workshops, the families and the incredible sense of community to really understand what we experienced today.
The word that kept coming to mind was resilience.
Dharavi may be known around the world as one of Mumbai’s largest slum areas, but what we saw was so much more than poverty. We saw people working incredibly hard, creating, manufacturing, recycling, sewing and running businesses in conditions that many of us could never imagine working in.
And amongst all of that, we were met with smiles, warmth and respect.
The people we met were some of the most welcoming and respectful that we’ve had the pleasure of meeting.

Yes, there were things that were difficult to see. Things that make you realise just how differently we live, but we didn’t leave feeling sorry for the people of Dharavi — we left with admiration and respect for them.

What an experience. What a community. And what a BIG eye-opener.

Last night in Tangalle, Sri Lanka, we witnessed something we’ll never forget.
A female sea turtle came ashore to nest, and we were lucky enough to watch the entire process — from digging the chamber to laying her eggs and returning to the ocean.

We kept our distance and used only red light to avoid disturbing her, so the moment felt incredibly peaceful and natural.
