Every week, we feature a talented creator from our community - someone whose work inspires, teaches, and motivates. This week, it’s Gerhard, a sports photographer whose passion for cricket drives every shot.

From wanting to play professionally to capturing players in action, ClipnCode's Gerhard shares what keeps him motivated, the biggest challenges he faces, and a few unforgettable moments.

On starting out:
"I’ve always loved sports, especially cricket. When I was younger, I wanted to become a professional cricketer, but that didn’t work out. So I combined my two biggest passions - cricket and photography. It’s the closest I can get to an international team, and I absolutely love it."

On fast-moving action:
"For me, proper framing is everything. Don’t zoom in too much - you risk cutting off part of the player. Rather, leave a bit of space around your subject. You can always crop and punch in during post-production."

On memorable moments:
"Being up close and personal with international cricketers is surreal. I feel incredibly blessed and fortunate to capture those moments. Honestly, sometimes I feel like a little kid again."

Advice for beginners:
"My advice is this: gear matters, but use what you have and just start shooting at local clubs or schools. If you can invest in something, buy a proper zoom lens before upgrading your camera. You can always upgrade the camera later, but a good lens makes a huge difference."
