In het voorjaar is het Patronaat te Haarlem traditioneel gezien de gast aan een hele resem alternatieve bands die je twee keer doen nadenken. Met steeds een line-up die vol staat van ontdekkingen en geflipte verassingen waar je jaren na datum nog over staat te 'geeken' stap ik mijn wagen in om voor....

So last saturday was one for the books, Complexity Fest 2023 - Patronaat Haarlem !!!

People ask me: "What kind of music and bands are playing there?". My answer: "Just have a look at what the name of this festival is, and think hard!".
So complex music, complex hard music!
On behalf of Zware Metalen, me and my partner-in-photo-crime Wishful Doing, pulled out our lenses and camera's, a blank memorycard, a timetable or two, some preview-beers, fully loaded batteries and a healthy ammount of good vibes, and started clicking away.
With Michiel Jorissen as thé designated reviewer, Pim Kastelein and Niels Kreijveld as the two lose and highly unstable canons of Osmium podcast, Zware Metalen was represent.

Last night my gig-year started at 013 Tilburg (NL), for a very spiritual and mesmerizing set by Lili Refrain. Some electronical necessities, a drum, guitar and a looping station, accompanied by her voice and performance….breathtaking!!!
And so my concertphotography couldn’t start any better.
