Member Mafalda Rakoš just launched the crowdfunding campaign for her graduation project "A Story to Tell, or: Regarding Male Eating Disorders"! 🐣 Lately, the work received awards at Plat(t)form 2020 at Fotomuseum Winterthur Winterthur, BURN MAGAZINE Young Talents award, Unseen Photography Fair Amsterdam, and was nominated for the Steenbergen Stichting Stipendium. In the photobook, eleven men openly talk about their experiences with eating disorders through images, drawings and text. The publication was beautifully designed, and is definitley aimed at a wide audience. We're happy to see how well it is going, and hope you'll help with spreading the word. Good luck, Mafalda! 👏

WOW, no words can explain how thankful we are to those who came by during the Graduation Festival. Those who supported us for 4 years, who bought our books, supported our campaigns, hugged us when we needed it. To all of you a BIG thank you! ❤️

[2/2] WE GRADUATED! 🎓🎊

After 2 weeks of dust, sweat, building walls and filling the holes in them, our works are up and shining. So proud of everyone 💫
The graduation festival will officially open tomorrow, Friday 5.7., at 17:00 and run until the 11.7. Opening hours: 11:00-20:00, Location: Royal Academy of Art, The Hague, photography corridor (first floor) and Gallery 1. Can't wait to celebrate, relax and talk about our projects 🌝 Swing by! The artists will be present.

“It is very hard to criticize something that comes from a feeling that I very well understand. I have the wellness vocabulary very well embedded in my head and it was hard to separate myself from it and to actually pin point what actually I am against. Cause I am the type of person who would rather eat ten ginger roots in order to cure a cold rather than swallowing pills. It took a lot of digging to realize that the wellness industry is creating the idea of the machine type of human, a machine that “cannot pause”. And this type of mentality is damaging people because it’s unrealistic.” - Diana Gheorghiu

On this sunny afternoon we'd like to share with you Loretta Monique's project 'Does a Lamb Stray Like a Lion?’. The work shows an exploration of what masculinity is and could be in the 21st century. “It’s a dialogue between me and three brothers, who are all in very different stages of their life. Jan (21), Józef (12) and Jeremi (1) take me on board to discover this complex thing called manhood.”

Our 'sneak peek' opening might be over but- don't fret, we have more than enough amazing images left to show you! Sonya Mantere made a visual story about her mother and how she is used to always being in the background. “I wanted to give her the freedom to be someone else, to play with it. But I soon noticed she liked the way she already was.”

WOW, thank you all for coming to our opening last Thursday! 🔥

We could not have wished for a better night to share with you; the weather was nice, the cocktails were nice, you were nice, we sold some works! It is indescribable for the number of positive reactions we had about the exhibition and our works. Now it is time to focus on finalising our projects which you can see at the Graduation Festival!

Thank you Melkweg Expo for everything! We would like to thank Fleurie Kloostra and Laure Vanrijckeghem for all the support they gave us and for giving us the opportunity to show ourselves in the Melkweg! ❤️

We hope to see you all at the Graduation Festival from 5 – 11 July at the Royal Academy of Art The Hague - KABK Den Haag! 💯
